"Unfortunately there were no available connecting rooms requested despite requesting it before our arrival and also arriving early and not checking in till later in the day. Although we appreciate it is an old building, we were disappointed that it is not very clean as the carpets in the hallway or the rooms did not look vacuumed. When we moved the sofa chairs in the room, we were really disappointed to see the amount of dust at the back of the refrigerator. The dust can also be seen on the remote control of the TV."

"Reception staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was of a good size and clean. Chairs of very good quality and comfortable. Comfortable bed. Hand wash, moisturiser, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were all supplied. Breakfast very good with plenty to choose from and the coffee was excellent. Cannot comment on the bar as we did not use it."

"Last minute booking for a cheeky overnight sojourn in York. First time visit, slightly out of the centre, but close to frequent bus service. Traditional hotel, spotlessly clean, with a few creaking bits. Special mention for the excellent receptionist, Jessica. Good value for money and will definitely be back!"

"A good but not outstanding stay. The staff are polite and welcoming, the rooms are comfy and clean. The shower pressure was dreadful though and the TV didn’t seem to have streaming services (if it did they weren’t easy to find). There was no bottled water in the room and the kettle/tea making stuff was cheap. For this kind of price point I’d expect a few more luxuries, but it was a perfectly good place to stay in York."
