The hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings and we were lucky to be given a stone cottage apartment with outside decking overlooking the pond and grounds. Beautiful! The staff were all very pleasant but overstretched and and quite stressed at times. Breakfast was good but didn't run smoothly. The restaurant food and service was very good.The pool and spa were really lovely and the gym looked amazing.
Don't rely on trying to get a taxi anywhere. Our main reason for staying here was to visit family for a birthday party. The hotel rang for a taxi twice and nothing turned up. We waited for a full hour and ended up having to drive. Fortunately me managed to get a taxi back but it was expensive.
Lovely place to stay in , would be even better if they weren't trying to run on minimal staff .
We would stay again because of the location and facilities.

Shame the restaurant was closed but the pizza filled a hole. Room excellent, staff welcoming and polite and a well stocked bar.

"Large room. Good desk. Bathroom smelt a little bit of dump. Food wasn't good: cold vegetables, cold chips, rubbery pizza. Also, the walkway between the bedrooms & the bar/reception was exposed to outside temperature, making too cold / uncomfortable so had to carry a coat - a nuisance."

"The view of Winchester Cathedral from my bedroom was amazing. All of the staff were extremely helpful and positive including promptly resolving air temperature issues in my room.
