"Loved everything about the hotel: pool area with beach access, restaurant and the views, hotel location. They even upgraded us to a suite. Two complaints: our room was not cleaned well and there was construction in front of the hotel that made access difficult. "

"We booked Ciqala based on the listing’s photos and amenities, but the reality was very different. The hotel was hard to find, the entrance wasn’t handicap accessible, and the room looked nothing like the pictures—bare walls, tile floors with no rugs, and hallways with cracked tiles and an overpowering chemical smell. Our first night was rough. The sofa bed was unusable: the mattress tipped backward, then folded over on me, so I ended up sleeping on it as a couch. The blanket provided was extremely rough. The “free breakfast” was one egg ordered through a phone link, with every topping costing extra. The “laundry service” was a single washer and dryer that repeatedly malfunctioned, eating my father’s money and ruining a day of our trip. Staff eventually washed his clothes, but they came back damp and some whites were tinted green. The rooftop views were nice, but the “pool” was really a small hot tub next to a row of AC units. Staff were friendly and tried to help, but overall the stay didn’t match the listing. We left two days early despite losing money. I hope the hotel updates its photos and descriptions so travelers can make an informed choice. "

"The staff is great! Alanna at the front desk is welcoming and helpful the moment you want in. Tony at the bar makes the best pina colada’s and local recommendations in town. Also David the Operations manager is lovely to work with. The hotel is actively being renovated so something to keep in mind. We were placed in one of the older rooms but still had everything we needed. The pool and gym were really nice and restaurant is excellent, it’s a must try! "
