"I enjoyed a perfectly acceptable stay. Every staff member I interacted with was pleasant & friendly. Breakfast was very tasty. It's a good looking place. The owners have obvs tried to provide for all a guest needs in this price bracket. I didn't want for anything. Everything I needed was provided or within reach. It's very hard to get a 5 from me. A touch of black mould here n there in the bathroom/around the bedroom windows and a whiff of dog in the bar (although, to be fair, allowing dogs wasn't a secret!) gets a 4"

"I attended for a retirement function and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The manager, Dale, was first class and made sure everything went well. Definitely a good venue for any kind of function. We had a private room and bar and a buffet - which was excellent quality. We also had access to a projector screen etc so we could plug in a laptop and play videos. It was a very professional set up. We could use to a decking area which overlooks the river. A very good venue and I would highly recommend it."

"The property is only a short distance off the main Road with private parking next to it which is well lit at night. The accommodation was lovely and clean and well equipped. Neil made us feel welcome and was very helpful doing his upmost to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely be returning."

"A lovely location to stop overnight. Beautiful backdrops, I can see why it's a wedding location. Couple of nice walks to go on from the hotel too. Rooms were great, mine had a nice little secluded table and chairs to make the mos of the fresh air. Menu wasn't overly fussy and breakfast in the morning was well laid out with the usual options, The road to get there was narrow and windy in places so just take care. Would thoroughly recommend."

"We had a lovely stay at Abi and Colin’s cottage. It was clean well appointed, with the added benefit of a parking space and a small outdoor patio-just perfect for our needs. It was within easy walking distance to the beach, pubs, shops, ferry etc. and not far to go to other attractions. Shaldon is a delightful village and we would love to return to the cottage some time in the future.Thank you, Abi and Colin."

"Our first mini break away alone, in 13 years and it didn't dissapoint. Anne is the most lovely host, so organised, courteous and kind, nothing was too much trouble. We were a little hot in the small double room, however Anne quickly provided a fan that assisted well. Breakfast was very tasty and scheduled for a time to suit us. Anne was very accommodating to my intolerances and catered with alternative milk and yoghurt. When booking I was unsure if booking the pool would be inconvenient, if plans changed and did think why did they not have the pool open at all times. However, when we were there it all made sense. You book your time slot for your 2 hour private session, with your selection of music, Anne was kind enough to bring us water & icecream during too. It would not have been the same tranquil experience if we would have been in the pool with others. The pool and poolside was extremely clean. The pool was warm at 30degrees. The whole atmosphere of the house and garden was tranquil and relaxing, it truly gave spa vibes. It was just what we were looking for. We did think you could do some costal walks directly from the house but that was my mistake for not looking into this more. However, everywhere was so close by car. We visited Babbicombe, Totnes, Torquay, Teignmouth, Mary Church and Dawlish. Please follow the directions to the house that are sent to you as we got to the bottom of the road (the wrong end) and it was very dangerous to drive up."

"Absolutely brilliant holiday! Debs and Andy are great hosts and have really thought of everything.The pods are very well equipped and spotlessly clean.Wonderful fresh eggs (so yummy) and some milk left for us was a lovely touch! Seeing the animals was a delight!Excellent base to go off and adventure. Nice enclosed area for pups to have a run about.Only sad thing was leaving! We will definitely be returning!"
