Underwood Church and Lychgate. The church and lychgate were designed by the Birmingham 'Gothic' architect, J. A. Chatwin in the style of the 14th century. They were erected in 1889 after being commissioned at a cost of £5000 by the 7th Earl Cowper who was a British Liberal politician and also served as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland between 1880 and 1882. The church dedicated to St Michael & All Angels had the clock installed in 1920 as a memorial to the local men who died in the First World War. The spire is visible from the surrounding countryside and is notable for being covered by oak shingles.

Hotel was lovely and the beds were comfortable. Really pleasant staff and would recommend the hotel. However wasn’t a fan of 5 WhatsApp messages plus Expedia messages from them think it was a bit too much. Apart from that everything else was great

Pretty hotel. We had a wonderful stay in room 121. The suite had a beautiful 4 poster and the bathroom a huge roll top bath. We visited the spa and had an excellent breakfast. Lovely stay. Will return.

Very clean and comfortable but horrendous noise outside room 10 from some kind of motor/pump kicking in every 5mins! Unsure how many other rooms affected. Unable to sleep even with ear plugs. Needs addressing.
