Check for events when planning your visit. It can get very busy. The audio guides to the house are great but unplug your ears once in a while and talk to the attendants they will answer all your questions and are really friendly.

Burbage Brook is in Padley Gorge in the beautiful Peak District. Park at the National Trust Longshaw Estate and take a walk down to the brook but wear sensible shoes as its hilly and uneven and you may need to hop across stones.
