Old Hall Hotel

Old Hall Hotel

8/10 Good
"We took my mum and husband for her 80th Birthday - I have stopped at The Old Hall many times and the rooms have always been excellent. My mum reported paper handing from the walls and he ceiling must have had a leak, it looked like it was going to fall. They slept very well the bed and pillows were amazing. I refused to stay in 2 rooms as they were not fit for purpose. The lovely lady on reception, sadly I did not take her name, was very helpful and she found a refurbed room that she new we would enjoy. The room was spacious, great view over the park and the bed was amazing. Bathroom was beautiful. The refurb made the room loose its soul, it was white with white blinds. When you get a beautiful room at The Old Hall Hotel (which I have always previously had) its drapes, curtains and bedding are in keeping with the 450year old building, oldy worldly but room 36 lacked that. Always check you have got a refurbed room and you won't be disappointed. If it's busy you will not be at fortunate as we were getting another room"

The Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell, Derbyshire

"Lovely hotel, fantastic location. Well decorated, comfy twin room but disappointingly, in the annex. Not in the main hotel. IMO, on the expensive side. £500 2 x nights, especially as it was 'room only'. Also, hardly any parking on site. Forced to park in public car park.My fault. Should have paid more attention when booking."
