"Cooks Flat is a great find in Wrexham! Tranquil, peaceful and beautiful walks on the property. What a treat to stay on a private estate and visit the Victorian kitchen and games room. I appreciated the welcome gifts and hospitality from the hosts too. Would definitely stay again next time I’m in the area."

"Got in after a 15 hour day to no hot water. So I had to settle for a tepid warm bath & straight to bed.
Hotel is a great building with plenty of character but unfortunately everything is so worn out & tired. No plugs near the bed, very small tv & paid as much as a nice hotel. Not good 👍 I would not recommend."
"Really good Hotel, very central, very helpful staff, excellent inclusive breakfast. We were not happy with our room, which was noisy from traffic outside .Eventually we changed, albeit at an extra cost. All in all, would recommend"
"The staff are fantastic, kind, helpful and attentive.
It is a shame that the breakfast was poor and that it has hidden charges.
The hotel itself needs TLC"
"The staff are a mix of fabulous and awful - some were so helpful and efficient and could not do enough but others were rather rude and snappy. The whole place needs a bit of TLC - wonderful beautiful building with some fabulous public rooms, statues and artwork but needs a good clean for example cobwebs and dust everywhere, chipped and peeling paint. The outside area is filthy - get a jetwash and clean it down - cushions on outside furniture yuck. The outside area in the second building near the function room had about 20 bags of dog poo in a bird bath and against a wall - no idea why but bit off putting to sit near. Bed was really comfortable and clean but lots cobwebs around windows and in wardrobe, coffee stains down the wall, two bulbs out in room, paper peeling off wall in big area. Breakfast was okay - very clean and tidy and cooked food looked great - the other areas ie fruit, cereals and bread/pastries not so great. Food from bar and restaurant was lovely and drinks were great - bar area really nice and great staff. This place could be fabulous but the manager/owners need to go and stay like a guest to see the issues - go round the hotel with a customer's eye and silly faults could be fixed. I would not stay here again as there are so many other options in Chester - real shame would love to see this hotel at its best."
"We decided on same day to book this hotel last minute as had just arrived back to Manchester airport and wanted to extend holiday time a day longer. We wanted somewhere within range of the Peak District with a pool and Spa facilities etc and De Vere Cranage estate came up in the search looking like it fitted the bill. It didn't disappoint.
Scenic well maintained grounds and good parking on arrival. Quick check in with friendly professional staff. Room was a double on lower floor. Decent size comfortable bed and pillows. Large tv, good wifi, safe, fan, additional heater, iron and board. Tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits etc.
Swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room plus extensive gym facilities which are complementary for guests and open from around 07:30 till 20:00 which is good. Very hot sauna and steam room which is what I always hope for. All nice and clean as well. Keypad lockers you just enter a four digit sequence of your choice twice to set it. (I had to ask a guest to show me as hadn't paid attention)
We had a fantastic lovely sunny day and warm evening there so we watched the sunset in a cloudless sky in the grounds along with others.
Breakfast was very good although we arrived at peak time so was busy. A good range on offer that I can't fault at all.
I will most certainly use this hotel when in the area again and give it 10 out of 10.
