The hotel is in an excellent location, close to town, close to Orrest head walk with stunning views and only 30min walk to the lake which saved us parking charges. Plenty of parking at the property, Room was very clean. The breakfast was 10/10. Overall excellent value for money.

The hotel is on a quiet lane close to the high street in Windermere. It is run by people who are obviously very experienced in hospitality and clearly responsive to what their guests require. The staff are friendly and helpful. The property is attractive and well maintained, also with a lovely garden where guests can sit. Our room was recently decorated, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast had varied choices which were nicely prepared and presented. There is a good sized car park and it's about 10 minutes walk from the station. A number of eating and drinking options within a few minutes walk.

The Hideaway is a family run hotel with fantastic facilities, great meals to select from at breakfast and the personal touch you get from the staff members are second to none. Safe and quiet environment close to the heart of Windermere with free parking, and just a walking distance to the Lake and all the restaurants around. Very happy people, thank you for taking care of us.

We had a lovely two night stay here. Room 2 had a very comfortable bed, and the roll-top bath in this room was a real treat. Tea and coffee making facilities had everything we needed, the breakfast was sumptuous, with lots to choose from. There is plenty of car-parking right outside the front door, and the whole building is very attractive and in the local Lakeland style. There is a lovely garden to sit in when the weather is fine. The village is easily walkable in 5-10 mins and Bowness is only another mile further on. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to eat in locally. All of the team were lovely, friendly and accommodating. A great place to stay!
