The hotel is named after the early 20th century actress Ellen Terry, whose house it was. Clean and comfortable.

The elevator was out of order and our room was on the fifth floor, and the stairways become progressively narrow as you go up, very hard to negotiate with luggage. The room was not much bigger than a broom closet. Though claustrophobic, it was nicely decorated and maintained, and staff were nice. We got the room at a reduced last-minute price; its normal price is far too high for the size of the room.

The staff was wonderful-very warm and helpful.

An okay stay. The shower gels were all empty when I arrived. They don’t even provide lotion. They don’t clean the rooms every day. And the rooms have very thin walls you can hear every door shut down the hallway.
