Lovely room and the decor of the hotel was great. Great location to the NEC and other attractions. Easy access to onsite parking. The staff were helpful and polite. Just some suggestions for improvement: the landline phone in my room was not working so I could not call reception. I ran out of hand wash in my toilet and despite asking several times it took 2 days before I was given hand wash. The safe in my room did not work, I reported this too but no one fixed it. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel but I wonder if it was short staffed? If requests by guests were dealt with swiftly then I would have rated this hotel 5 star and visited again, but I’m not sure if I will which is a shame.

First impressions were okay I’m very quiet place . When checking in the lady behind the desk informed us that she lost the key to the room that we was allocated and move me and and my partner to a room to a different room. We went into the room and very quickly I noticed that the door was already open, as going in we tried to lock the door behind us and the bowel in the door lock was jammed meaningless of security risk. Went back to the reception and told her the situation to then give us a a new room a couple of doors down. As we opened the new room, we was very cautious about what happened in the other room so we checked the door to then our surprise we couldn’t open the door and found that the door was shut tight because of fresh paint that had been me and my partner had to physically pull the door to open the door so we could go back to reception and complain yet again about another problem that we had . I think all in all we had three room changes in the space of half an hour. I asked the lady behind the reception if had a maintenance person on site and they said no and by the looks she was the only person on Shift that night as she was running the bar and the restaurant as well . There’s two doors in the reception that has been banging all night. I’ve got woken up at 1 o’clock in the morning by people banging the doors . I’ll come here to have a night away so then go home and have to have a nap because of the unsettled night I had here.

This is a terrible Hotel… It’s located about 15 minute walk outside Birmingham city Centre in quite a rundown area… I booked it as it’s close to Utilita Arena, but in hindsight there are much better hotels within walking distance. It took about half an hour to check in as there was a big queue and only one person on the desk… The only lift that worked took about 45 minutes queue to get to the top floor and back to the lobby… our Tv didn’t work and despite asking for it to be fixed, it wasn’t !… The breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had at any hotel… Very limited options and nothing really for vegetarians… The staff were grumpy and miserable. I did feedback to the front desk and there was no acknowledgement or apology.

Nice breakfast, rooms clean and good value.
