"We had a lovely stay at The Penhelig Arms in a beautiful location. The food was good, even for gluten free. Excellent options all round. We couldn't fault the staff even if there weren't many on shift. However, the showers could have been better as water leaked out the door, (some re-sealant would have helped) and two of the window handles were either broken or we couldn't open the window. The fridge also wasn't cleaned. It did not look clean at all. One of the slabs was loose near the room and just need cementing down. The railway station was literally a 1 minute walk away. A beautiful line to travel on. Would I stay there again? Yes."

"A really cosy retreat from the rat race. The cabin is so comfortable with all mod cons, offering a super relaxing stay. The ambience, wildlife and all were unforgettable. Aberdovey is a charming resort, unspoilt and very welcoming. I would fully recommend the cabin and area if you're seeking solitude."

"Great holiday cottage in a fantastic location - within easy driving distance of nice beaches and mountain walks. The resort has a indoor swimming pool which required booking into a slot during peak stays (school holidays). The site also has a free mini golf course (clubs and balls provided). The cottage cooking equipment could have been better (tin opener was not fit for purpose and cooking knives were blunt). Beds were comfortable. Resort was well tended and tidy. The Indian restaurant on the resort had fabulous Indian food (so delicious we went twice) but the decor is a little shabby - don't this put you off as the food is amazing.I would go back"

"We were in town for the local Machynlleth Comedy Festival over the May bank holiday weekend, and this was a wonderful base for that, being around 20 minutes away - and then a short drive to Aberdyfi too, with its lovely beach. The chalet park is very quiet; we didn't hear anyone else throughout our entire stay! Communication from the host was great, and she was very friendly. The key is stored in a lock box at the property, so you can check in at your own convenience with space to park directly outside the front door. The chalet had everything you needed - 2 bedrooms with comfy beds, ample storage for clothes, a good shower (with toiletries supplied) and a well-stocked kitchen. We even got some free cakes on arrival, thanks! There were also some board games and DVDs supplied if you get bored. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again next time we're in the area."
