Yosemite Valley Lodge

"It was nice staying IN the park. Keeping in mind that’s a national park and not a luxury resort I expected less in that respect. The room had cobwebs which is okay but the bathroom smelled of urine, not okay. The shower curtain was about 6-8 inches too long and had a terrible odor to it. The front desk staff just seemed tired and worn out. Not as helpful as they could’ve been. The sports bar/lounge was nice with friendly wait staff. But the beauty of being in such an amazing place seemed to outweigh all the negative. Definitely worth staying there but you need to plan WAY in advance for reservations. I made ours 5 months ago and was told at that time that it was the last available."

"This was our second time staying in this house, and it perfectly meets our needs. We enjoyed using the hot tub, playing pool, and having a nice place to bathe and sleep after spending our days hiking in the park. We will book it again for our next trip!"

"We thought the location was fantastic. The cabin was conveniently situated within the park and we liked the opportunity to have a nice place at the end of the day where we could be away from people, make ourselves a nice dinner and relax. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was fine, and the washer and dryer were a real plus. We also liked the gas fireplace and the screened porch although we did not have the opportunity to spend much time there. Although the cabin setting is not particularly beautiful, a very short walk leads to a pretty creek with nice rock features and small waterfalls. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again if going to Yosemite."

"Stop at a grocery store before you get into the park and load up on everything you think you will need for your stay. There was sugar, some cooking oil and basic spices, but nothing else for cooking. There are a couple of small stores around the property, but at greatly increased prices."

"Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and I would rate this property 7/10. The home is spacious, and the kitchen is large enough for a group to gather, cook, and enjoy meals together. The master bedroom and the second bedroom with the queen bed were comfortable, and the master bathroom has a very large shower that was wonderful to use. I also appreciated that the host provided large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, which was a thoughtful touch. Having a washer and dryer was another great convenience, allowing us to wash our clothes before heading home. One thing to keep in mind is that all the bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the lower level. There is no bathroom on the main living area, so guests need to go downstairs to use the restroom. This may not be the most convenient layout for elderly guests or anyone with knee or mobility issues. The bunk bed is suitable for children, but adults sleeping on the lower bunk may find the clearance low, making it difficult to sit up straight. If you’re visiting Yosemite, it’s also worth knowing that power outages can happen in the area. During our second night, the electricity was out for more than three hours after we returned from a full day of exploring. Since there was no cell service or Wi-Fi during the outage, it would be a good idea to bring a flashlight or rechargeable lantern just in case. Overall, this is a comfortable, spacious home in a great location for visiting Yosemite."
