the hotel rooms are right across offices so it’s limited to privacy and the hotel is limited to facilities such as kettle , no fridge , barely anything it just was not a pleasant stay and there’s no room service and we wasn’t offered any clean towels

We spent 2 days at the Aja Hotel and we very happy with the amenities and on-site restaurant. As we are Expedia VIP members, we happily accepted a room upgrade and complimentary parking. The only missing item (as we’re traveling with 2 kids) was a kids play area within the hotel. That would have been perfect.

Close proximity to train station!
Close proximity to Altstetten train station (just 5min ride to the main Zurich HB station). Love that there are two sets of blankets in the room! Bed and pillows were comfy. Tap water didn’t taste weird at al (Switzerland has one of the safest drinking tap water).

This is a basic business hotel. We were charged 65 CHF for early check in . Room is very tiny towels are not full size . Its away from the city yet listed in citycenter .

What was unique about the property was it's description as being like a resort or spa within the city. This marketing elevated my expectations so I was left disappointed. First, upon arrival at approximately 2pm with the check in time being 3pm, I was informed that there would be a fee should we wish to check in at this time. I have never in my days of travel been told that there would a fee for checking in a bit earlier than the exact check in time. In my opinion a higher level of customer service would have been to say something like, "we are doing our best to have your room ready for you, let me check if a room is ready now." I was immediately put off. My disappointment increased as the room I found to be modern but lacking in any feeling of spa or resort like comfort. The bathroom is glass, with a curtain on the outside, the shower cubicle's door drags water across the floor, the simple soaps provided are not Nivea, representing a missed opportunity to market their onsite Nivea spa services, no phone in the room to contact the front desk (which I had to do to figure out how to turn off one of the lights), not even a book with a basic map, listing of local dining and transportation options, hotel menu or amenities. I looked forward to the rooftop to meditate in the morning, but learned it only opened later in the day when we'd be out exploring. For me, the room or service did not support that idea of the hotel being a spa or resortlike experience.

Hello Hotel's exterior and lobby is very nice but don't come into this trap I strongly recommend that don't stay in this hotel, room size are so small that you can't keep your luggage properly even they don't have minibar in rooms. they asked me to deposit 50CHF as deposit money, who ask for that ?? they have nothing in room no kettle, no water bottle, no minibar than for what deposit money?? Rooms lobby is also so confusing that hotel staff itself doesn't know that in which direction which room number are there. They are running shop in hotel's reception area anything you need you have to buy from their, you need hot water go downstairs, you need tea, coffee you have to buy from them, i felt air bnb are better from them. I am amazed to see the hospitality and treatment of staff with guest is very bad and the staff is very shrewd & cunning they will always try to make you fool and grab the more money. I strongly recommend that don't spoil the your Switzerland trip by staying into this hotel.

If the guest is paying at the check in time we will not take a pre authorization.In this case room charges are not possible and the guest have to pay any extras in the respective outlets.At aja, we strive to provide our guests with an excellent experience, which includes all the necessary amenities in our rooms and a welcoming atmosphere in our lobby area. The Aja is a beautiful hotel and the staff is very friendly, but my last visit was very uncomfortable at night. My husband and I would both wake up sweating and adjusting the thermostat didn’t help. The vents were very dirty and we found particles all over the desk and our things. Also, the towels are very small and non-absorbent

Booked hotel based on Expedia description that it was close to train station and connected to a shopping centre. No shopping nearby, train station is outside the main train hub (this should be specified) and the only restaurant was the one in the hotel. Hotel is in an industrial area, we had one day to explore Zurich which was lost due to the inconvenient location.

Very nice hotel, super clean, only two stops away from the old town by the train. The staff could have been friendlier and more helpful. I was not happy with the customer service especially the gentleman ( bald) who was working the Night Shift on Wednesday 7/13. I don’t know his name because he refused to give it to me!!!

NOT GREAT FOR A 3 NIGHT STAY
No place to put Luggage if you are traveling with another person and the air conditioner was not good. they did give us a fan to move air around and that really helped. Would have been nice to have a coffee maker also.

Dear James, thank you for your review and for sharing your experiences with us. Constructive criticism is an enrichment for us in order to work steadily on our very high quality standard. We greatly regret that you apparently had problems with our ventilation system in the room. Due to our Minergy concept, filtered fresh air is fed directly into the room. This concept must have a standard temperature. As a resort hotel we decided to waive to don't have a coffee machine in our hotel rooms but a24 hours shop with a starbucks coffee machine at the reception where you can get every time snacks or drinks. Great hipster suburban hotel !!
We could not find the hotel as it is behind with no sign directions. The check in was very slow although very welcoming. The bathroom wall made off glass, uncomfortable especially as you can see all the way through the room to the room opposite... loved the location , good food/bars around, but you don’t get a free pass for transportation like many cities in Switzerland.
