We were encouraged by a tour guide to book a multi-star resort hotel in the Center of Siracusa. But, our research persuaded us that a boutique hotel on the Island of Ortigia was more in line with our standards and preferences. The Algila Ortigia Charme Hotel both met and exceeded our expectations. Everything, including the Center of Siracusa was within walking distance. The morning breakfast was convenient and ample. The bar was a nice place for a nightcap and the whisky selection was excellent. Our Junior Suite was very comfortable with quiet and great air conditioning. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to enjoy the terrace and views that were connected to our room.

"This is a beautiful hotel overlooking ( from our room) the morning ocean, with wonderful staff ( particularly Denise) who were extremely helpful & considerate. Wonderful breakfast was included. This is a stylish Hotel within walking distance of everything in Ortigia!"
