Excellent service, clean room and great area

I can’t wait to come back!

I had a high expectation for this hotel, as it is extremely beautiful online. The lobby and staff were exceptional. I gave this review 3 stars because of the lack of attention to the room. Our exterior door in the bathroom (only source of fresh air) was broken and unable to open. We called about it but nothing was done. Also, the room felt a little dirty - some shelves and walls looked dirty. Additionally, on 2 days, our room was not serviced and we needed to make a call to remedy. The hotel roof turns into a nightclub at night. We were there on opening night for dinner and the bar and ambiance were amazing. However, don't try to fall asleep any time before 2am on Friday or Saturday - the club music is so loud. And the hotel and bar are not owned by the same people so the hotel doesn't have any control over the volume. The hottub was out of commission for 2 days - kind of a bummer. Overall - this hotel has promise - but needs more attention to detail.

View from room was outstanding! Staff were very friendly. Housekeeping was meh. Bathroom was not cleaned during stay. Toilet paper not refilled. Sheets on bed were pulled up but pillows were left as we left them, not fluffed/straightened. Outlets on walls did not hold plugs securely, only able to charge phones using half of the outlets in the room. Restaurants were overall very nice, good food. Boat ride to island was nice, but a little rough, so bring dramamine, etc if prone to motion sickness. Pools were lovely. There was always enough room to find a shaded spot, both at the pools and on the island. Likewise, towels were in abundant supply. Overall, it is a beautiful property, but could improve a bit in the areas of housekeeping and infrastructure. They offer the ability to fill water bottles at various locations. One of the filter indicators we noticed was red, told the front desk. 5 days later it is still red. No bueno. While they offered a few activities and a play area for kids, if this area was enhanced (perhaps an activity coordinator)they could become a family destination of choice.

I booked a king and was told only 2 queen bedroom available when I got there

Additional bartenders are required at the main bar; it took approximately 25 minutes to place a drink order. Beautiful hotel overall
