The Good 1- Staff was Really nice 2- the food we had was decent 3- plenty of pools to choose from The Bad 1- The travel club “timeshare style” sales pitch they will try to rope you into. (More details below) 2- getting into the more popular restaurants is difficult due to booking 3- sargassum was really bad (Late July) and the beach was filled with it. Synopsis- If I went back to the Dominican Republic I would probably try a different resort. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. When you check in you get approached by someone that says they will reserve breakfast for you and give you a tour afterwards… DON’T fall for it. They rope you into a 2+ hour sales pitch for the travel club. The room was clean but you can tell the resort needs updated. I never plan on spending much time in the room so it doesn’t really bother me. We ordered room service food and it took about 40 minutes to arrive. I tried ordering a bottle of wine and it never showed up to the room but I wasn’t charged for it either. The app for the resort is very glitchy and didn’t work well on my wife’s or my phone. The sargasso seaweed was really bad but there were plenty of beach cabanas to sit at but there was no way I was getting in the ocean. We used a lot of the different pools though instead. We wanted to book the Japanese hibachi restaurant and never could get in which was annoying. If you are looking for a luxury experience this probably isn’t the place but for us it was a good vacation.
