"Modern, spacious and tidy accommodation, food and service by staff was excellent. WiFi was excellent as had to do some work in the evening. Minor point was GF room window - I was not able to open without compromising security of room. If there was any plan on upgrades a small gym facility would make it a perfect destination for me!"

"Very good a-la-carte breakfast. Nice location, close to the old town and few minutes walk from the train station. Complementary, delicious cookies in the room. Charming hotel and bedrooms, one issue is that water was dropping in the bedroom from the ceiling, from time to time. I notified the reception so I hope they fixed the issue. "

"Great food, great staff, lovely place to be. Our room was close to either the central heating boiler or ventilation or something else for the hotel, so was a little annoying throughout the night as it never went off. Bed was lovely, big TV, nice facilities however we had no milk for the tea/coffee machine. The surrounding areas is beautiful and we had some lovely walks. Apart from the small issues we had will study again. "

"This is the second time we've stayed at the Mason Freehouse, it was lovely the first time we stayed, which made us keen to return. Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. We're looking forward to coming back and staying again, as the plans for new menus sound fantastic. Room sizes and facilities are very adequate for a short stay. "I like the convenience of walking to many places around. The staff was pretty good. There is a major issue with two things: Quality of the mattress Washing machines were not working. You have only two Peking machines for an entire building. Some are out of order and they are so small that you have to do two loads of laundry. Management or The owner should invest more money to upgrade the room mattresses and the laundry rooms"

"Lovely place. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the parking wasn't very clear so we got caught out by the carpark down the road! Would be helpful if there was a sign on the corner of the street."
