Algonquin Cabin on the Magnetawan river

10/10 Excellent
"Quiet, basic off-grid cabin with two doubles and one twin bed. Wood-burning stove kept it cozy. Kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, plates, knives, cutting board, and some spices. Also had blankets, board games, playing cards, one interior light, and one outlet with an extension cord for charging phones. The cabin is on a shared property with the owners living just steps away, but we never saw or heard them — it felt completely private.Things to know:No running water or plumbing — bring your own waterLimited lighting, so pack a lantern, flashlight, or headlamp for the cabin and outhouseLong, bumpy driveway — drive carefullyNext to a fast, rocky river (access is around the side of the property and not easy)Short drive to Doe Lake Beach & campground (beach, ice cream truck, boat access)Nice visit to Brooks Falls nearby (view the waterfall, but no swimming)Great option for a peaceful, simple cabin stay close to Doe Lake. Come prepared and you’ll enjoy the quiet. Would stay again."
