A lovely, well maintained hotel with friendly, helpful staff. When booking however, be aware if you have a dog with you, that only some rooms are dog friendly - we had to pay £30 to upgrade to a pet friendly room and furry family members are not generally permitted in the breakfast room. That aside, we enjoyed our stay; the breakfast was excellent and well presented. In the evening we had a lovely evening meal in the Ambleside Inn, which is a short stroll from the hotel and is very much dog friendly.
