We had a fabulous overnight stay with our family of 5. The beds were so comfortable and the location was so convenient being near the train station and other facilities. The staff were very helpful and we had a lovely breakfast.

The location was convenient to touring the city and the central train station. The power was out for several hours in the morning, which made it difficult to get ready, have breakfast, and checkout.

The hotel it self was ok, it was clean and the room was big. The staff was nice and the free breakfast was a plus. The only thing I didn’t care for is the location and how dirty it was around there which isn't the hotels fault. It was also a little loud buy it was right in the middle of the main tourist area so understandable.

This is a very old hotel. We were surprised to open our room door only to see a flight of stairs up into the room. Difficult to navigate with large bags. The room was large and comfortable. No a/c but there was a fan in the room. Breakfast was good and staff very helpful.

The room was old and quite dark. I could clearly hear noises from the hallway and outside, which made it difficult to rest. There was no air conditioning, and even with the window open, there was no breeze. I had booked four nights but decided to leave after one.

Insist on a room that is (a) accessible by elevator, not "some elevator, some stairs" and (b) no stairs inside the room. Using any stairs at this hotel - whether inside the room, or outside - is like playing Russian roulette! Limited closet space in room. Bathroom is like from 19th century.

Stayed only one night during a long flight layover. Great location, few minutes walk to Amsterdam Central Station. Very basic room amenities, but good enough if you out for most of the day and come back at night. Breakfast has a good variety. The staff is excellent!

PROS about the hotel : excellent location, conveniently located close to central station, attached to a restaurant/bar, free breakfast buffet with numerous options NEGATIVE about the hotel: rooms smell like old water/mold, some of the lamps by the bed did not work (bulbs were dead), room has NO AC, room gets very loud and we were woken up around 6 am from the city workers removing the trash ; beds are very tiny The hotel also only provides 1 key for your entire group, and you have to leave the key with the front desk staff as you exit the hotel, and receive the key again when you check in. This is such an outdated system and it is just not efficient when you are traveling with multiple people!!

The Best Staff

I stayed in a cheap room. I didn't expect much. I stayed there because of the location to the central train station - knowing what I know now,I would have gotten a double room, not a single and paying a couple extra bucks. The staff though was glorious. And it's a super location.

Cosy and comfortable and well situated for transport links as well as walking around the city. It has charm and character as you would expect from an older building - if you are looking for double glazing and a more 'modern' hotel, then this is not for you. An excellent team of staff (friendly, welcoming and very efficient) from reception to front of house and the food was delicious. I have stayed before, and would stay again.

It's true the stairs are steep and narrow. But that's almost everything in the area. We stayed in Apt 1. Narrow hallways the room had a little kitchen, Bathroom and 2 beds were upstairs, the narrow steep stairs. We either walked or took the buses everywhere. Tons of great places to eat. Close to the main train station.
