Small hotel in a quiet and safe neighboourhood, but close to tram stops to get around the city. There's a taxi rank close by too. It's a long established hotel offering a small but good breakfast. The building looks quite old so don't expect state of the art facilities, but it's lovely and clean and everything worked well.

Great place! Needs slighty better communication
Great place, clean and comfortable, only thing that would have been better is if they had notified me before hand that there was construction going on in the building. It wasnt particularly loud but i did wake up im the morning to a surprise of hammering and sawing.

Dated interiors, thin walls ,staff friendly.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was wonderful ,easy to get to most locations on foot . Unfortunately the accommodation was very dated , lacked character, very functional institution like room. Bed uncomfortable, walls very thins,i could hear every sound of the next door occupant,slamming of doors etc.

Staff was great and very friendly. Location is fabulous. We walked everywhere. Room was very small and dated, but very clean. Staff requests you leave your room key at front desk when going out, which was strange but not really a hindrance. Would stay here again.

Positive side Great location, quietness, breakfast area next to a nice little garden, very nice people On the negative The bedroom had a sink just next to the bed, not in the shower/toilet room. The electric devices had to be plugged just next to the head on the bedhead. Soundproofing between the rooms was limited.

Disappointed, Room Not To My Liking
My room on the 4th floor REALLY needs a revamp - it's like entering the 1970s. So despite it being very clean, there's only so much you can clean a very dated room. Plus soundproofing was poor, I could hear the lady next room or below clearly chatting away till past 11pm :( To the management, please refurbish your rooms and hallway, please consider supplying a mini kettle. On the plus side, staff are very friendly and very helpful, cleaning person did a great job cleaning the place, location is great, frequent trams 2, and 12 nearby takes you to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Also bus to airport 397 leaves from about 200m away so very convenient.

The property was ideally situated and a good price compared to others. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the area etc and always willing to help. The hotel was at a well kept standard with everything as described in property description. Room slightly on the small side but suited our requirements

Very good location if you are here to go to the museums ! Close to downtown also. The only thing that wasn’t available was a small freezer ( to keep the cheese that we bought)😀

The people at the desk were kind and super helpful. The garden area is lovely and the breakfast room is very pleasant. We really enjoyed staying here plus it is close to the museums and a multitude of cafes.

My Friend and i stayed here for three nights and it was fabulous. The location is amazing and the staff was so great. The rooms were nice and gives you everything you need for a quick stay. We will absolutely be coming back to this hotel again and recommending it to anyone who asks!

The hotel is in a busy part of the city close to museums and shops and city center, yet quiet and tucked away in a side street. It has a good friendly atmosphere and a beautiful garden space.

Extremely noisy!
The hotel is in a good and strategic location, you can easily walk to the city centre (20min) or take public transportation few meters away. It's an old hotel, and its vintage style gave us an impression of not proper cleanliness, but actually it is quite clean. The stay was not comfortable at all. Too much noise, I think I've never been too such noisy place. You can literally hear people talking or walking next to your room or from the floor above. Room and bed are very small and relatively dark. No temperature control, as well. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We spent 3 nights at The Owl Hotel. It was a good value. Rooms are small, but functional. We arrived around 10:30 am after an all night flight from the US and they were very accommodating and cleaned our room for us so that we were able to check in at 11:30. Front desk staff were super helpful throughout the stay giving us excellent advice on how to get places and where to eat, etc. Elevator to the 4th floor was very tiny, but worked fine. The shower was very weak, but nice and hot. Beds were comfortable. Room was very clean. Temp outside during our stay was in the 60-75 deg F range, so room was comfortable. But, I didn’t see a thermostat and did see a space heater in the closet. So, not sure if there was any control of the heat in the room. No air conditioning in the room, so we were happy that we left Amsterdam just before the heat got there.

A perfect spot for a visit to Amsterdam! The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very competent. Minutes away from the buzz of the city, yet completely peaceful. The breakfast is not to be missed, and the outdoor terrace was a lovely place to relax after a busy day visiting museums. Would absolutely stay again!
