"*Great Location, But a Bit of a Mixed Experience Overall* We booked this place through Expedia when it was still listed as a 3-star stay. Right before the trip, though, we noticed it had dropped to 1 star, which definitely made us a bit uneasy going in. We also had a frustrating experience trying to contact the owners beforehand as we needed something for a visa application. Someone initially said they’d help, but after a few weeks of waiting, nothing came of it. Arrival & Check-in: We arrived late morning, thinking we’d at least be able to drop our bags, especially since it was absolutely boiling that day. But we later realised, buried in the small print, that reception doesn’t even open until 3pm. So we couldn’t check in, couldn’t leave luggage, and couldn’t get hold of anyone, which meant hanging around in the heat from about 12pm to 3pm. Not a great start. When we came back at 3, we still had to wait about 15 minutes in what felt like a slightly makeshift reception area inside a residential building. The staff member who eventually showed up wasn’t particularly welcoming, didn’t apologise, and spoke very little English, which made things a bit awkward straight away. We were also asked to pay a €50 city tax on arrival, which we had assumed had already been included. The Room: The biggest disappointment was the size. It just didn’t match the photos at all. We were expecting something closer to a suite, but what we got was a very small double room with a tiny bathroom"

"Showers are very small. No shampoo n conditioner. Great breakfast selection. Easy to get can or taxi. Staff helpful "

"No bar, just one staff member and not family friendly. The place was old and smelled old. Dont recommend at all. Overall terrible place to stay. The vibe was just off, the area also seemed unsafe, sketchy people on the sidewalks, not close to anything. Would not return to this place, me and my friend had to book another stay that same night since we felt uncomfortable staying at this place. Save your money and dont stay here."

"You must sign up for shuttle to metro station only 8 slots per trip it will put u close the the vatican or you will have to cab or Uber it and nothing before 830qm also showers are super small no drawers for clothes so you can hang a few items other than that you are out of suitcase staff was extremely nice and helpful with the exception of one individual and they give you a complimentary drink on day of arrival but only specific drinks not anything you want from the bar"

"The location is a big advantage—everything was easy to reach, which made exploring Rome very convenient. Breakfast was also a highlight, with plenty of choices to start the day. The hotel has a classic, old-world charm, but overall it feels a bit tired. The corridor carpets, for example, gave off a slightly dirty feel. I understand preserving the style, but refreshing or deep-cleaning certain areas would make it feel much cleaner without losing its character. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, mainly because of the location and breakfast, but some updates would really improve the experience."

"Clean spacious room, balcony. Shower was fab, hot and good pressure. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely, nice choice and variety. Bar was small but convenient for casual drinks. A lovely find! "

"We stayed here for 4 nights. The breakfast menu was the same everyday, which was a bit disappointing. Our hotel fridge didnt work, and we asked for a new one but didnt get it. Our room was always very hot and the thermostat didnt seem to be working. When we asked about it, they gave us a fan. Overall, the staff seemed nice and the location was great, next to Vatican city, many restaurants and stores. I'm not sure about staying here long term, but short term may be ok. "
