"This hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment. Unfortunately the air conditioning was out of order for the bulk of my stay and a standing fan placed in the room instead. Carpet was very worn. It looked like the en suite may have already been refurbished but the shower was off bad design and leaked into the bathroom floor. Staff didn't engage when I returned each day (stayed five nights). Breakfast was excellent and the staff there very helpful. Great location to the seafront and Brighton Centre."

"It’s a budget hotel, does what it says in the tin. Clean, comfy bed, 2 lifts, very helpful and friendly staff (they found a charger for me to borrow straight away). It’s right by Brighton station, or if driving - there’s the big station car park just the other side (and it’s cheaper than the main town sites!) - also buses on the door step. Outside there are convenience shops, piles of pubs and takeaways (we didn’t have any noise issues though). Right in town, straight down the hill to the Beach - minutes to the lanes and main for the shops. If you just want a bed to get your head down - ideal."

"Room was clean Staff was helpful Breakfast was very good Outdoor look nice The only problem was that there was no fridge in the room and with that hot weather this was not helpful Also there was no lift and we had to carry our luggage upstairs We are all elderly one with heart problem This was not a help as we had to go up a lot I was very worried about my friend with heart problem"

"Room 219 First the good - Nice spacious room Quiet Nice bed The not so good - No air con (visited during heatwave), fan was provided but was inadequate. Flush in bathroom not working and would leak while trying to use, contacted front desk about it but nothing was done. Weird smell in bathroom, not dirty. Lift faulty"

"We loved the swan hotel. Although our room was A Snug room if it hadn’t of been for the extreme hot weather it would’ve been great. It was a little claustrophobic. The bed was extremely comfortable, bathroom was a little tight but the shower was big. Ask for a low floor if you have difficulty with stairs as they’re quite steep. We received a warm welcome on arrival and the amazing friendliness of the staff continued through our 2 night stay. Special mention goes to Lee the manager, Sally our fun waitress, Peter the Barman and the young student at breakfast (sorry can’t remember his name. We had trouble with our room lock and Lee went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the solution. Ee would definitely stay at this hotel again. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so relaxing. Location was perfect, right in the centre of town."
