"As a solo traveller the Editory Boulevard Aliados Hotel was perfectly situated in the heart of Porto. I took the metro from the airport to Trindade Station which took 32 minutes then I walked downhill for about 5 minutes and I reached the hotel which is next door to Burberry and Todd’s. I didn’t have to taxi anywhere as I was able to see everything “on foot”. Porto’s main train station, São Bento is less than 5 minutes walk away which is very useful if you wish to take a day trip to Aveira “the Venice of Portugal”. The main shopping street is about 5 minutes walk away, the river is about 10 minutes walk away (downhill ) and there are an abundance of lovely cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is lovely. The foyer smells divine. My room was beautifully appointed and looked just like the photographs shown on Expedia. A large bottle of water is provided as a courtesy every day. The staff are very friendly and when I reported that my coffee machine was leaking, it was fixed / replaced immediately. I highly recommend this lovely hotel in the centre of Porto. Thank you to the staff for making me feel so welcome."

"InterContinental Porto – Palácio das Cardosas: A Hotel That Makes Leaving Rather Difficult Every now and then, you stay somewhere that reminds you why great hotels are worth seeking out. The InterContinental Porto is one of those places. First, there’s the building. A magnificent historic palace sitting proudly in the heart of Porto, looking as though it has spent centuries quietly judging the architectural decisions of lesser buildings. The location is nearly impossible to improve upon. Step outside and you’re surrounded by beautiful architecture, wonderful restaurants, charming streets, and enough hills to make you question whether Porto has ever heard of level ground. Inside, the hotel is elegant without being pretentious, luxurious without trying too hard, and wonderfully comfortable. But the beds. Oh, those magnificent beds. After traveling through Europe and encountering a few mattresses that seemed better suited for medieval punishment than a good night’s sleep, the beds at the InterContinental were nothing short of heavenly. The pillows were extraordinary, the sheets were wonderfully soft and luxurious, and the entire experience was like being gently embraced by a cloud that had somehow earned a degree in hospitality. I’m convinced the hotel has discovered some secret formula for perfect sleep. The pillows, the sheets, the mattress, everything was exceptional. We slept so well that getting out of bed each morning felt less like starting a new day and more like"

"The hotel is in a fabulous central Location. The room was great directly facing the clock. However the room was not cleaned each day. Had to wear hairnet in the pool which I did not like. Breakfast was ok. Good variety however would have preferred more hot food choices and it was like warm. Coffee beans were garbage. TV options are rubbish and no snacks available."
