"The property itself was beautiful, and dining in the restaurant accompanied by a pianist was a truly wonderful experience. The food was exceptional, and I couldn’t fault it. However, the hotel room was disappointing in comparison. It was looking rather tired, with chipped paint on the furniture, a missing drawer knob, and a very ordinary bathroom that didn’t quite live up to the elegance of the property. Additionally, there was an empty champagne bottle left outside our room when we arrived, which detracted from the overall first impression. While the setting, food, and live music were excellent, the condition and presentation of the room fell short of expectations."

"Well communicated contactless check in, beautiful property and rooms, cute little town, and the breakfast was good! Coffee was great, Charlie makes a great flat white! Parking can be a little bit of a nuisance, and like many historical properties no elevator so if you need help with your luggage plan ahead as the property is not always staffed. Lovely. Also Forrest Park is not to far down the road if you would like a lovely walk around the lake. the Parson's Nose is quite good as a dinner option - in walking distance of the property."

"I would definitely stay here again- the staff were great, the beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was varied and delicious (i had porridge with honey the first day and french toast the second day- there was also cooked food available and a range of continental items). "Our room ( number 3) was on the small side and our bathroom was tiny with an old fashioned fixed shower. The wash hand basin so small that it was impossible to fill our room kettle directly from the cold tap. I had to fill the kettle from a water glass. The bathroom fan was extremely noisy. There were no curtains on our window just a blind. My cooked breakfast was excellent and service was friendly if somewhat haphazard. Hotel grounds were impressive."
