The cottage was great! Overall, the place was very thoughtfully furnished, and we really enjoyed our stay. We did find a number of dishes in the cabinets that hadn't been cleaned well, and we were disappointed the oven couldn't be turned up to a medium or high cooking temperature, but those were minor issues.

Perfect location for exploring the English countryside!
So much love for this rustic cottage! Caroline has created a little piece of heaven. It was the perfect location and the hot tub was an incredible extra that made a very hectic few days relaxing. Its comfortable and has everything you need. We were blessed with wonderful weather so did alot of exploring locally and not as locally~ Bath, Stonehenge, Rollright, Stow-on-Wold, Bibury. It IS rustic (read- spiders mostly up high) that took some of the arachnophobic members of the family nervous, but they never really bothered us because it is oh, so comfortable! Soft leather couches & recliners. Nice kitchen with all the necessities. Despite having owners so close we never felt like the privacy was lacking. It was the exact beginning spot to our first trip to England!

Idyllic cottage. Hot tub a big plus.
My kids loved the little cottage in particular with its hot tub, mezzanine and 3 TVs. I couldn’t figure out how to get the cover off the hot tub and no instructions in the Guest Book but the proprietor thankfully came to stop by and help us. Great to walk the dogs too as there’s a footpath right opposite the stable yard. Nice to see the horses walking through the yard. There are also free roaming dogs which my dogs loved, Alfie in particular was very taken by our female dog and he would wander into the cottage if he got the chance which we had to be careful of as she’s not been spayed yet. He’s a charming fellow though. I was on the trip for business so didn’t cook at the property but my mum found the Rayburn a challenge to cook on, but there is a stove top hob provided to make it easier. The heat from the Rayburn must be so cosy in winter but we had to keep the windows open in the heat of the summer to cool us down. Really nice touch after a long drive to have milk, orange juice and mineral water left in the fridge. The hot tub and multi shower head shower was just what I needed after a long days work before heading home. For kids and dogs that love other dogs it’s a great stay.

Relaxed, quiet, lovely place
We were very impressed by the cottage, the place was cosy, the whole look of the inside was amazing. Hot tub was great we had a relaxing time, and it was a nice surprise that Caroline had added a christmas tree for us, my son had his 21st with us and told me we made memories here qnd that's what I wanted for my family.

Lovely get away
We had a lovely few days as a family, exploring the area and spending time together in te evening. The house had everything we needed and the girls from the riding school who were out and about were friendly and chatty too. Lovely house, a lovely area, thanks so much.

Two young girls, a dog and lots of horses!
We had a wonderful family holiday staying at Caroline’s little cottage in Hook Norton. The hot tub was a lovely treat after a day of hiking. And my girls loved seeing all the horses and saying hello to them as we walked the dog around their lovely fields surrounding their property. The Aga had been turned off due to the heat (understandable) and Caroline was very helpful, providing an alternative and even offering to cook our pizzas! We used the bbq in the courtyard instead so all was good! We had a car so was able to access all the lovely villages, attractions and pubs in the area. A very pleasant stay.

Fabulous stay, enjoyed the facilities, especially the hot tub. Communication was excellent and enjoyed exploring the local countryside and its pubs. Sun Inn in Hook Norton was so good we returned. Thanks for a wonderful relaxing break.

Gorgeous cottage
Absolutely lovely cottage with everything thought of and provided. Loved the extra touch of a sink in each bedroom so no need to hog the bathroom longer than necessary! Owners on-site if there are any issues and are really nice and helpful - giving info about the local area etc. Dog-friendly cottage and my dog loved his stay too! The hot tub is amazing!

A relaxing, refreshing stay in the Oxfordshire countryside
This was one of the few properties in the area that fulfilled our two main criteria - firstly it was dog-friendly & secondly, it had a hot-tub. The booking process was very straightforward & we received all the information we needed for accessing the property in good time before making our journey. Caroline, the host, is friendly, knowledgeable & welcoming. Upon arrival, she showed us around the cottage & explained some technicalities with the Rayburn stove in the kitchen. The cottage was very clean & comfortable & the hot tub was every bit the indulgent treat we had hoped for. Situated in a fabulous part of the Oxfordshire countryside, we were spoilt for choice as to where we wanted to visit during our stay. We loved this cottage & would return in a heartbeat.

Fab holiday cottage
Lovely little cottage that was warm, well presented, clean, ready to go and exactly what we needed for our Christmas get away. Great location to go exploring the Cotswalds. Kitchen had everything we needed for Christmas holidays. Hot tub was a great little extra though was a bit chilly getting out in the middle of winter! Great fun though and we would definitely book again.

What a fabulous property with loads of character and offering everything u could need. Well equipped with bbq and full kitchen facilities and hot tub, we could completely be away from the rat race. Communication with owners were 5* too. Recommend this property 100%.

Lovely Cottage
The cottage was lovely and clean. The hosts run horse riding sessions so there were parents, kids and horses out and about outside the cottage but that didn't bother us and we quite enjoyed watching everyone go by in the mornings. The hot tub was lovely, worked well and was easy to work. Check-in was a little frantic but the hosts were welcoming and friendly. You have to to drive everywhere (there didn't seem to be any walking trails close by) but that was fine for us as we researched the area and local villages / towns, where to go etc. beforehand. Overall a really lovely and relaxing stay.

Great little holistay
Ignore the low star ratings about the hot tub been located near the main road. Once the bubbles start and the conversation starts you can barely hear it. Caroline was a lovely host she gave us a warm welcome and was happy for our dog to be around. The cottage is enclosed so the dog had free roam of the garden to sniff. My only suggestion is to bring a dressing gown and some slippers if your using the hot tub as these aren't provided. Overall a great little holiday thank you.

We enjoyed our visit to Turpins Lodge. The cottage was a lovely place, with plenty of space, clean, and just next to the Costwolds. The hot tub bath after a day walking was awesome!

Comfortable Property
Communication prior to our stay was very good, very quick replies. The cottage itself was comfortable, and a perfect base for a number of activities throughout our stay. Could do with the cobwebs dustings, spiders are a hazard of these types of buildings but the cobwebs seemed excessive in some rooms. Hot tub was lovely. Some features could do with a little update, but over all is a good base for exploring the local area.

Great place to stay, good size property for myself, wife and dog and made welcome on arrival. Good location to explore the surrounding area. Hot tub was great and always warm. The only negative was that the house was a little dirty but that didn't spoil our short break.

Needs a good clean
Arrived at the property with 3 other female friends aged over 40. We were quite shocked how dirty the property was , despite the fact we are in a pandemic still. It is an old cottage , rather cute , lovely place, but extremely dusty , and in need of a deep spring clean . I spoke to Caroline , as she had said on other reviews that is what she wanted and she did ,(when she had time ) come over and removed the canopy over the bed which was thick with dust and clean behind the bed, and sort the lighting . However , she did not ask after if we were now ok. The property including kitchen equipment was filthy. It had no way been antibacted before we came in, there was even glass on the floor, curtains had spiders and dust and we're hanging off the rails . If she deep cleans and sorts these things out it will be a lovely cottage.

Relaxing and charming reprieve from city life

Ideal for social distancing
What a ideal place to be alone with your thoughts, all the comforts of home with the addition of a wonderful hot tub! I could sit in the sun room and listen to the birds and then go for a walk in the lovely fields adjacent. There is road noise, but this didn’t distract me from hearing the horses talking to each other, which made me chuckle every time I heard them. The owners were nice to speak to and we appreciated the little touches that made the stay perfect. We had a game called light switch roulette as there are a lot of switches, they are marked but it was fun to guess

My partner stayed for his birthday. Caroline was an excellent host. Hot tub was amazing! Cottage was lovely and warm with basic necessities. Clean and had everything that was needed. Lovely seeing the horses daily. My partner joined the morning hack. Excellent service. We will be returning during the summer months.

Terrible stay
Left property after one night not as described , property manager was very rude , cottage filthy , not as described , national speed limit traffic zooming by as sat in hot tub very relaxing NOT! Greeted by dogs mess outside gate, horses constantly being brought in and out , vehicle garage on site with lots of scrap cars , refused refund and no response back won’t be using again , customer service terrible , lost out on a lot of money and a lost holiday disgusted!

A little Cotswold Jewel
Are you worn out from the frenetic pace of London? Then look no further than this cottage in the Cotswolds. It is a great spot to explore the charming towns in this area. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning in spring with fields of yellow flowers.The cottage is super comfy and well equipped. The owners are very gracious and accomodating. We had a fantastic stay at Turpin Lodge.. What was brilliant was that for once the lodge was better than what the photos depicted!! Caroline came over and gave us a warm welcome and said we could contact her should we need assistance throughout the stay and then left us to enjoy her gorgeous little barn conversion. It was so cosy ! Set in a beautiful location. There was plenty of useful info for not only the lodge but of local attractions and walks. I could have stayed forever We loved it and will definitely return to take advantage of the beautiful countryside.

Wonderful weekend
We spent the weekend here myself and 3 friends. Had a wonderful time. We visited the local pub for a drink. Used the hot tub which was lovely. The cottage is not far from the Cotswolds so we visited bourton on the water. Such a lovely place. Caroline was very welcoming and friendly . Her cottage is really nice and quirky . Gorgeous cottage in lovely location
An impressively decked out cottage with really friendly hosts. The area was lovely with some smashing pubs. Our favorite thing ever was relaxing in the hot tub after a ramble across the fields. We didn't want to leave and we will definately go back.

Friendly hostesses. Beautiful cottage in the countryside. Fully equipped. Very comfortable electric recliner armchairs in the dinning room. Wonderful hot tub in the garden. Plenty of space for a family. If we come back to this area we would like to stay here again.

Fab holiday cottage
Hi myself and my husband and a couple of dear friends stayed in the Turpin lodge cottage in hook norton and it was amazing the cottage was lovely. We loved the old beams and the hot tub was fab . The owner Caroline was very helpful if we were not sure about anything. We were not too sure about the Rayburn cooker but that was fine we used the barbaque most of the time x The cottage is well cantered for the area as we went to a different village or town every day . We will definitely recommend this cottage . Big thank you Caroline xo

gezellig echt engels cottage met superfijn bubbelbad buiten
mooie plek in Engeland. Fijn huis met ook luxe. Veel privacy maar altijd de kans om iets te melden of te vragen. Erg prettig.

Turpins Lodge is in a very central location for visiting Oxford, Stratford, Warwick and all the picturesque villages between. At the end of a hard days site seeing return to your own comfortable cottage and relax in the private hot tub.
