Food from the bar was delicious and incredibly good value for money - just be mindful the 'formal restaurant' is only open on some evenings. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding - best I've ever had in a hotel I think. Swimming pool, steam room and sauna were lovely to use in the morning before leaving."

"We loved the experience of staying in a genuine castle! It was a beautiful property with trails for walking and wildlife wandering on site with horses! The only thing I’d change were the sheers on the bathroom window (felt a little exposed. The staff were lovely and we would definitely stay again and longer to enjoy the area more! "Just home from a great 2-night break at Hodson Bay. We had a lovely lake view room which was really comfortable and spacious. Superb meal in the restaurant on second evening. We got a taxi into Athlone on the first. Great pool area also. Great for couples and families and we hope to be back."
