First time staying at Hotel Montemar and would very happily book again. Fantastic location, the friendliest staff both at reception and the dining room, good selection of food to choose from for every meal. The roof terrace is so relaxing with amazing views of the bay and glorious sunset. Bus stops outside hotel and short stroll to the old town.

Very impressed with this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. From time of check in, in the restaurant and bars, the staff were great and seemed genuinely happy to be working which provided us with a happy, friendly experience. Our sea view room was simply stunning with the best views we've ever had sitting on our balcony. Comfortable bed and very clean with a powerful shower. A couple of things that could be better were the noisy A/C unit and lack of a fridge and kettle / tea/ coffee. Another slight annoyance was that the maid entered the room 3 times despite us having the Do Not Disturb button enabled on the control panel. The 6th floor lounge bar is a must and provided amazing views with the service and quality of furniture being very good. You couldn't have asked for a better location with the vast amount or bars, restaurants, shops, market stalls and beach literally on the doorstep. Overall very happy and impressed.

Amazing hotel
From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome, from the reception right to the hotel cleaning staff. The room was spotless, and the veiw from the balcony is amazing. I have been coming to benidorm for 45 years, and would rank this hotel in my top 5. Fabulous

Only an OK stay...
We had a good stay in the hotel, it was comfortable and staff are friendly. The only complaint I have is the food, if you are fussy, dont go full board. Some food are tasteless and greasy. Desserts are blah. Other than that, it was a good choice I can say.

The hotel was perfectly placed & very clean . The negative was bfackfast which was just an onslaute ,wavws upon waves of rude people & the staff fighting to keep up .top tip fight for yiur food because being polite doesnt work ,ironicaly i was told breackfast included but had to pay on my lt day no matter how i explained it . I guess they wanted to get closed

We booked a room with a bath tub i called Friday b4 arrivin Sunday as we need bath for medical reasons. Tge reception sed no bath we queried it an was told to go somewere else. We stsyed as it was lste after 9 hr drive. i explained it was clear on the booking an they should have let us know b4 as we cud have gone elswere. They called us much later we were asleep to change as a cancellation had occurred. We didnt chsnge it was far to late. Dennis from hotels.com sorted it 4 us.

Excellent Stay
Arrived early and were able to check in to our 2 rooms immediately. Staff on the front desk were friendly and efficient We’d booked 2 sea view rooms and I’d requested prior to arriving that the rooms were on the same floor. The 2 rooms were next door to each other on the 2nd floor. Paid for the safe but didn’t bother with the fridge and we’d brought kettles with us so we we’re sorted The rooms were spacious with plenty storage space. View over the sea was stunning and well worth the extra paid Bathroom was small but everything you needed and free toiletries. Shower was excellent. Shower cabinet small but was ok Went up to the 6th floor bar and had a cocktail. It was lovely and cocktail was reasonably priced Bar on the ground floor was lively with music We stayed bed and breakfast - breakfast was plentiful and loads of variety to choose from It was the start of a fiesta and we were able to see the procession from our balcony Mainly Spanish people staying but didn’t make a difference to us Overall a very enjoyable stay

Would happily return to Montemar
Excellent location, fabulous sea views, lovely terrace bar, plentiful buffet choices, very clean with friendly staff. Would have benefited from tea making facilities in the room. The cafeteria gets very loud, busy and is windowless.

Nice hotel.
This is very pleasant hotel that is in a very handy position in relation to the Old Town. The breakfasts are exceptional, with a huge choice of different foods. I would have liked to have a fridge in my room. The recess where you can sit outside and Have a coffee or drink is a bonus..

Amazing hotel
Amazing hotel. We were upgraded to the VIP room. Definitely a room I would stay in again, lots of room, fridge in room. Didn’t have breakfast as don’t like the breakfast room, prefer the breakfast next door at coach and horses pub. Hotel very clean. New terrace bar is lovely. Staff very polite and chatty. Great welcome. Second time at this hotel and will definitely return. Fully recommend this hotel.

They have a 6th floor terrace which they have renovated, it now has a bar with seating and deckchair area, beautiful view of harbour and Poniente beach. Cannot fault our stay at this hotel, cannot comment on breakfast as did not try it.

The hotel was clean it would have been nice if they would supply tea and coffee in the room and the hot food in the restaurant wasn’t very hot even though it had just been put out

Excellent location for old town, sea views from balcony. In very good condition. Everything worked, plenty of hot water. Very helpful and friendly staff. My only negative was the buffet breakfast but to be fair I have come across the same issues with most buffet breakfasts in other hotels. Bacon is usually underdone but eggs are overdone and a few other minor niggles. It's not the most welcoming dining room as there are no windows. However, this is a minor complaint and we will definitely rebook this hotel in the future.

So close to everything
We have stayed in the old town before and the Montemar was just as we expected .... and more. Out of the front door, cross the road, through the park and onto the beach. Turn left and walk 100 yards and you are in the mix of the shops and restaurants. What could be a better location? Although our room was not on the sea side of the hotel (and perhaps a good thing with shade all day) it was spacious and well appointed. The 6th floor balcony is an excellent addition. Sun, sea and loungers in full sun all day. The breakfast set you up for the whole day. All diets were catered for - bacon, sausage, three styles of eggs, cheese, ham, cereal, yoghurt - in buffet style and replenished right through. The TV too had channels from across Europe. And the evenings were delightful - entertainment, music and dancing. The MC was wonderful and greeted you each evening as a long lost friend. And all staff were really helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.
