I admit I didn't really notice how many 'please mind your head' signs were pictured when booking this property, but I'm very aware of them now. The shortest of us staying was 5'10 and we all have bruises and bad backs from crawling around the place.
One of the bedrooms had no door or covering and was just open to the kitchen, the other had no curtain or blinds on the window. The automatic light in the entry way detected movement in the bedroom even when the door was closed so kept turning on in the night. The stools at the table fell apart when we sat on them, the screws just dropped out the bottom, and the cherry on top was finding a cockroach in the bathroom when we were preparing to check out. I didn't even know we have those in the UK. The property was not dirty, but nobody wants that surprise.
Separately from responsibility of the host but something to note is that someone downstairs outside enjoys to smoke green in the evenings, and we had to close the windows to keep the smell out. Not ideal in the middle of summer.
It was very easily commutable to the NEC, as this was a work trip, and there was ample free street parking in the area and the host responded reasonably fast when we had a late hour question, but the lack of privacy and light intrusion from inside and out didn't make for restful sleep for any of us, so it is not a place I would choose to stay again.
