We received a very warm welcome from hosts Jackie and Rob and our stay was absolutely exceptional! Our room was clean, neat, well appointed, with a refreshments tray including lovely homemade cake and the folder containing menus and directions for the nearby pubs for meals was well thought out and presented. We slept well in a good firm bed and our room, with it's views over the garden, was very peaceful. The breakfast was excellent: perfectly cooked, nice quality ingredients and offered a really good selection of fruits and cereals (prior to the cooked breakfast), followed by plentiful thick toast with homemade jam and marmalade and, very decent coffee! We were truly made to feel very welcome and because our room, the nicely presented bathroom, good quality towels etc. everything was so well organised, we had a really comfortable and relaxing stay. And the location is perfect too! Well placed, in quiet countryside, but just off the main arterial routes and we had no trouble booking Uber for travel into the nearby town. We would highly recommend White Cottage as a comfortable base when visiting the Black Country or Shropshire border area!

We stayed for two nights in June 2026, our hosts were waiting to greet us even though we were 3 hours later than our ETA. From that moment to when we left they treated us like we had known each other for many years, a truly unique experience. The breakfast and the homemade cake was simply superb. If we ever need accommodation in the area again we would not hesitate to stay with Jackie and Rob at the White Cottage in Trysull, Staffs.

Absolutely fabulous stay. The hosts were lovely and personable, perk fast was delicious, and it was so quiet and cozy. Is was a great base to do our first week of exploring. I couldn’t recommend Rob and Jacquie enough, especially if you want somewhere out of the way that takes care of all the littles details.

We had been to visit David Austin Roses and White Cottage was in a reasonable distance from there - we did not want to travel back to Nottingham on the same day. We were made most welcome by Rob. The room was well presented and thoughtfully laid out. The bathroom was sparkling! We were provided with tea/coffee facilities, milk and wine. We were also give two pieces of the most delicious cake! Breakfast was wonderful and again, beautifully presented, with lots of choice. Nothing was too much trouble for Rob and Jackie. They are excellent hosts and clearly know their business. The White Cottage is a little gem!

Wonderful, homely stay in the Midlands.

I booked the stay at White Cottage for my wife, Anne, as she was visiting from Australia and needed a location close to her family in Wombourne. She was delighted with the friendliness of Jackie & Rob who made her feel completely "at home". The room had everything that she needed and the breakfasts were superb. The added extras were very much appreciated too. Hopefully, we can both stay there next year when we are back in the UK. Anne highly recommends White Cottage for a stay in the Midlands.

Home Away From Home

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. Definitely home away from home. The owners were a pleasure and very easy to chat with. In a quiet street with parking outside.room is lovely with lits of personal touches including a small bottle of wine, homemade cake. White Cottage: lovely stay, homely & comfortable.

The White House was easy to find, with parking outside. Our hosts were lovely, genial and very welcoming. Our ensuite room was warm, comfortable and homely. The complimentary welcome tray was the best I've ever seen with lovely homemade cake (huge slices!) 2 small bottles of wine and 2 bottles of water. The beds were in the firm category which suited my husband more than me. Our room was at the back of the house and was very peaceful at night time and the village seemed quiet the next morning. We chose the White Cottage due to it's ease and proximity to The Halls in Wolverhampton. The journey was around 15 minutes. Would we go back? Yes we would.
The complimentary welcome tray. Extra teas/coffee and different flavoured teas were available just outside the room at the top of the stairs.
