"Clean, tidy and on Colchester high street, so a perfect location. Breakfast was served in the hotel opposite, was great. "

"Appreciate they are not attempting to be a luxury hotel but missing on some really key basics. Pubic hairs were on bathroom side. Bathroom bin had not been emptied and was full of previous guests sanitary products. Dirty towel hung on back of bathroom door No power sockets on either side of the bed Room stank of cigarette smoke. In regards to eating, asked to order food at 2031 and was told kitchen closes at 2030. Not much flexibility given I was a minute late. Pretty dire to be honest."

"All good except no hot water in bedroom (feeble trickle that reached lukewarm after 10 mins) and shower a cold jet not a spray! Location, staff - reception, waiters at dinner and breakfast, - cleanliness, etc excellent, spacious room, lifts worked well, breakfast reasonable variety. But not sure would risk staying again unless they fix the showers or I felt happy to stink."

"Breakfast was fabulous. Having the bus to and from the airport was very convenient, but felt four pounds per guest was an awful lot for such a short distance and Uber would have charged much less."

"Quiet comfortable room. Nicely decorated but it was a little dark. Bed ok. Our ground floor room had a shower over the bath. Good off road parking. Busy pub at the front but no pub noise. Nice evening meal and continental breakfast taken. Restaurant staff very nice and helpful in the evening."

"When making the booking it wasn't made clear that I wasn't speaking to the Hotel and would therefor have to pay a parking fee and also for meals it was necessary to walk round to the Ramada. Being semi disabled and having just undertaken a lengthy cross country drive, I was not amused. Staff were as helpful as possible."
