"We stayed at this property ahead of moving our son into his university dorm. It was a perfect location, easy to get everywhere and a grocery store only a 5 minute walk. There was plenty of room to store our things and we really appreciated the covered car port. The house was very clean and the owners responsive. We would not hesitate to stay here again. My only suggestion to future guests would be to bring some sugar packets if you like it in your coffee :)"

"The desk staff were extremely helpful and provided the relevant information. The room was clean and fairly spacious. The mattress was very soft but that is to be expected from a dorm room. There were strange sounds I could hear throughout the night and at times even though signs were posted doors would still be closed loudly at night. Finally, the room could do with a bit better ventilation because it smelt a little like a gym. Overall, the experience was satisfactory and affordable."

"My friend's statement about sums up this property: "For $350 a night, this is a bit janky." Let me prephace this review by saying that there is nothing objectively wrong with this hotel, but I wouldn't say that it is good value for money. For the $350 we paid a night, there were multiple electrical outlets in the room that only had one screw, or were otherwise loose/coming out of the wall. The wood plank ceiling had messy splotches of paint throughout and we noticed in our friend's room, that they actually left the painters tape around the top of the room. The shower took a long time to heat up and didn't stay warm for long in all of the rooms our party rented and the heat settings did not work in our room and it remained relatively cold (which wasn't the worst in our case, but still). In short, if this was a $180ish-$200 a night affair, then it wouldn't be too bad, but for the price they are charging, in the North End of Halifax, I would recommend you look elsewhere. You can only take the "rustic" boutique hotel theme so far, at a certain point it is all style, no substance."

"We recently stayed for one night (Saturday to Sunday in May) and overall had a good experience, mainly because of the excellent staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. That said, I paid $503 for one night, and I honestly feel that was too expensive for this type of hotel. I understand it was a busy weekend and demand was likely high, but the value didn’t quite match the price point. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the arcade for our 9-year-old son. Unfortunately, the arcade felt very outdated, and several machines were unavailable or not working. It was disappointing, and my son didn’t enjoy it as much as we had hoped. The pool was good, and I appreciated that there was a lifeguard on duty, which added an extra level of safety for families. The room was clean, but not exceptionally clean. There is definitely some room for improvement when it comes to overall cleanliness and attention to detail. Overall, it was still a good stay thanks to the outstanding staff. They were the highlight of our visit and made us feel welcome. With some updates to the arcade, improvements in cleanliness, and more reasonable pricing, the experience would be much better."
