"Really good place for a 1 night stay. There was a wedding on but it was not intrusive or particularly noisy. Grounds & building are well maintained & the rooms looked like they had been fairly recently renovated. For the price, was great value & breakfast well presented."

"Last minute booking and we arrived after midnight due to awful traffic driving up from the south, but there was still ample parking and the front desk was manned and ready. Pleasant surprise to find out the parking was free on weekends. Didn't use many of the amenities but the dining area was nicely presented, functional lifts and very quiet location. Bed comfy, shower had good pressure and black out curtains made for a good night's sleep. Would definitely stay here again."

"This was just a quick stop after visiting family on our way to the next destination. We did not expect much at this price but we were pleasantly surprised. Everything was nicely decorated and clean. The bed and room were small but comfortable. We did arrive after dark and were a little worried at first after passing some rough buildings but in the morning we realized all was good and we walked to the adjacent shopping center, which was nice."

"An Absolute Gem—Warm Hospitality at Its Finest!We recently spent a wonderful weekend in Room 4, and I am writing this review specifically to highlight the incredible standards of hospitality and old-fashioned manners that made our stay unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the welcome we received from David and Janice was so warm and genuine that it felt like we were catching up with old friends.The customer service here is simply excellent. David and Janice truly cannot do enough for you, and their attentiveness is unmatched. David is a remarkable host—incredibly knowledgeable about the local area, generous with his time, and a true gentleman whose traditional manners are a breath of fresh air.As for the food, the traditional English breakfast is absolutely unbelievable. Janice uses the finest fresh ingredients, including delicious, freshly baked bread that was a highlight of our mornings.Room 4 was a perfect base for the weekend. Combined with immaculate service and hosts who make you feel completely at home, this is the place to be. We cannot recommend it highly enough!"

"Photos of listing didnt really show off the full features of the property? but I took a chance as it was a great price for the dates I wanted. It’s basic in terms of design but I can confirm it has everything that you’d need to survive your stay! 2 good sized bedrooms. Beds were a little springy but we slept through. I’d suggest that fans be made available for warm weather time as it got a little stuffy at night. The random strips of wallpaper placed around the property were a quirky feature, seems like an attempt to hide imperfections in walls and skirting boards maybe? A little out there but doesn’t affect the amenities available if you accept it for what it is…? the host was responsive to communication and I can’t really complain considering the amount I paid to stay tbh We used the house as a base for our time in the area for work so didn’t have too much time spent there. It certainly served us well for what we needed. I feel I have to make anyone considering staying aware that the Staircase was pretty steep but that’s typical of these styles of property. Might not suit people with mobility problems. Bathroom is on ground floor at back of kitchen. No issues for us not having facilities upstairs but just trying to give a true description. An adequate home for a base on a short stay. Plenty of local food options for those who don’t want to cook. Area was quiet. Street parking was accessible near property too. All in all I’d stay again if I needed a place in the area :)"
