We very much liked the entire ground floor. Unfortunately, our room had a leak in the ceiling where it meets the bay window, we would not have known except for the fact that here was a storm that night and the chair under the window was soaked, also the black out in the curtains was thread bare in places.

Very warm welcome upon arrival, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room, good shower, and enjoyed the breakfast too. Superb location along the promenade between the two piers. Very noisy (but it was Pride weekend & ear plugs were provided in rooms) and very hot (UK heatwave and no air-con in rooms). Unfortunately the lift was "out of order" so regularly up and down three flights of stairs. But overall, a great hotel, which felt like a safe, convenient and comfortable retreat during the busy Pride weekend. We had a side view of the sea, which was sadly spoilt by the constant stream of festival go-ers peeing in the street haha! Would definitely stay here again.

Nice sea view room, although decor tired and like the rest of the hotel needs updating badly. It is traditional though and an old building. Breakfast expensive, no parking. Great location on seafront, but noisy at night. Amazing entertainment by Alison David laid on by the hotel for Pride weekend

It’s an old hotel with all the things that that implies but the place is well maintained and the staff is wonderful. Especially appreciated, since my partner is celiac, was the clear marking on every breakfast item that was gluten free.

Great location, but the hotel had musty vibes considering how expensive it was. The doors in the hallway were crumbling, carpets were torn up and our towels had marks on them. I tried to iron and I received an electric shock from the old socket. Great location, but won’t be returning again.

Perfect location. We were fortunate to get an water-front room that overlooked the pier, beach and channel. The only thing about this room is that it gets a little loud with all the parties that happen below in the lounge. That being said, these usually wrapped up around 10-11pm, so unless you are a light and early sleeper, then perhaps ask for a room closer to the back of the building. It's close to all the sights and sounds of Brighton, so transportation is not needed. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Awesome stay.
