The first sight is exactly as the photo of the Inn, and we walked in to a happy and friendly pub, not rowdy, and collected our keys to our room which was as shown in the website. Generous with tea, coffee and milk, plus a pair of binoculours to look out onto the hill behind. We quickly returned to the bar, with it's original beams and polished copper benches for a drink then a meal. Good value prices, choices and the meals were delicious and huge. I could not finish my meal. The cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious, generous, using fresh local ingredients. We had a quick wander using the public path opposite to look at the countryside and views but sadly needed to continue our journey. Highly recommend the Hunters Rest Inn and glad that google showed us on maps hotel search.

What a cute little pub on the quiet back roads. Great food options, with plentiful portions and cooked breakfast. The accomodation had it's own private entrance so did not need to walk through the pub. Room was lovely.

Really nice place with fab food and good location
The hunters rest was a really good find. We had a small issue when we arrived with the room but that was sorted out in minutes. The food was fantastic both in the evening and for breakfast and for an out of the way place it was always busy so the locals must like it. If we come back this way it will definitely be a place to stay again. The landlord also gave so good recommendations for places to visit. Really enjoyable stay

A gem of a country pub
After mixed experiences staying in Bath to visit our son at Uni, this time we looked for something a short drive away and the Hunter's Rest was a gem of a find. Friendly staff, lovely location (though the narrow lane made my wife nervous), nice beer garden. Our room was lovely, only thing i would ask would be a better TV but that's all. Beer and food excellent as was the breakfast. Will definitely return.

Really nice proper country pub. Stayed one night. All quiet, clean well stocked room with good size bedroom and bathroom. Very friendly staff, particularly at breakfast which was a good selection and tasty. No problem recommending.

Beautiful inn located close to Bristol in a beautiful country setting. The breakfast was wonderful and the host was attentive and friendly. Adequate parking with easy access to the rooms. We stayed in #4 with a 4 poster bed which was actually a suite with a sitting room, large bedroom, and large bathroom and balcony. Room was spotlessly clean. We very much enjoyed our visit and will definitely return.

Enjoyable Stay - Try the granary bread!
Parking was easy and the atmosphere within the bar and restaurant was warm and inviting. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent quality. Definitely get the granary bread with dinner, some of the nicest bread I've had!!.. Only slight negatives are that the wifi strength is minimal (ended up working on hotspot) and the room felt quite cold at night. Otherwise recommended

Hunters Rest
Excellent country inn accommodation. Lovely walks in the area, good food and very dog friendly. Great for a short break and fairly close to Wells and Bath.

Absolute Gem of a place to stay. Lovely clean room and nice pub on site so able to have a couple of drinks at the end of the day. Very tasty breakfast with good selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice and hot foods. Will definitely revisit.

Very enjoyable stay!
We had a very enjoyable stay at The Hunters Rest. The pub was very easy to find, and there was lots of free parking to make use of. Upon arrival, the Hunters Rest Inn is very quaint with a large garden. When we arrived, the Check-In was a bit slow, and we weren't told much about breakfast or any of the amenities available, but never-the-less we were shown to our room. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom had a large bath, and was clean. The bed was comfortable too. We were impressed with the room, and you can see the Clifton Suspension Bridge through some binoculars provided by the inn. We booked a table downstairs for dinner. Despite booking, this did not seem to have been written down, but this proved no issue as they found a table for us. Service was quite slow, and we had to ask a few times for drinks. When asking for a drinks menu, they said they did not have one, despite there being one on the bar when we were waiting to be seated. The food menu is standard, pub food. The portion sizes are huge, but the food is very delicious! We also had breakfast included, which was also very big, but very varied and really nice too.

Fabulous, dog friendly, hotel in lovely location. All the staff were really friendly & helpful. Our Vegan diet was very well catered for at Dinner & Breakfast. The room was spacious and full of character with a beautiful, spotlessly clean, en-suite with roll top bath. The only thing that would have made the stay perfect was if there had been an EV charger at the hotel. We had to drive 22 miles to a pub to charge the car but that wouldn’t stop us staying at Hunter’s Rest, again. Hopefully the Government will provide subsidies, so that places like this can install chargers.

Hotel was dated, curtain rail actually fell on my head just missing my eye.. breakfast I had creepy crawlies on table, no cold running water in room...overall absolutely never recommend

Fantastic stay
We stayed in room 4 for two nights on the 23rd October. Separate lounge snd balcony and a four poster bed. One of the best stays we’ve ever had and having a restaurant attached meant we didn’t need to travel for meals. Lovely place and highly recommended.
