"Superb guesthouse in convenient location close to city centre. Close to bus routes too. Very accommodating owners. Lovely, clean room with everything you could ask for. "Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Alverton. The room by the courtyard was very nice, and the bed super comfortable. Nice and quiet as well. The one thing that was a bit disappointing was the breakfast - we had decided to stick with the continental option, the buffet was limited, the toast we had ordered never arrived, and my mum’s gluten free toast got there only just before we left, more than half an hour in. I appreciate things can get busy, but it was unfortunate that there was no communication about it."

"Despite being at the hotel during a bad storm we had a good stay. We made use of the pool and poolside amenities with our 6 yr old who enjoyed it. We ate at the Brasserie and had the best meal we’ve had for a long time - it was expensive, but worth it. Our room was clean and well presented; it was a luxury family room with a sun deck. All the staff we interacted with were polite, helpful and positive. We’d definitely stay again and recommend."
