So pleased you all enjoyed yourselves, and agree a visit to Lucca or the coast, particularly the Cinque Terre is a must. Each season we may upgrade the property wherever we see the need, but one thing we cannot improve on is the location and views.

Dear Sandra, Above all else we are pleased you all had a lovely time and would want to return at some time in the future, and this is the main thing. On the points you raise. The road up to the house, which is still quite easily passable, was damaged earlier in the year by heavy rainfall, and is booked in for repair as soon as practicable. At the same time the kitchen will be refurbished and the outside terraces extended. We are surprised you mention cleanliness and mosquitoes. This is the first time in over nine years that these issues have even been mentioned by any guest and we are most concerned, particularly on the question of cleanliness. We do have fans to freshen the air on hot evenings, and the ceilings are high which usually does the trick. Mosquitoes are rare, but we do get other flying insects in the countryside obviously, and we do have electrical devices in all bedrooms rooms to help in this area. Always trying to improve, and look forward to welcoming you again. Linda & Tony Perkins

Thank you for your kind comments about our holiday home, the beautiful area in which we are located, and the great holiday you have enjoyed. Sorry you felt the kitchen was somewhat inadequate, although we would like to emphasize the kitchen is perfectly clean and fully equipped with no complaints over six or seven years of holiday guests. We agree it is slightly lacking in worktop space and due for a re-vamp Winter 2018. At the moment, ideal for holidays but not perhaps for Cordon Bleu preparations! We try very hard to achieve the highest standards, and are consequently sorry you were only able to give us four stars on this occasion.

Liebe Carmen, Es tut mir so leid, dass Sie diese unangenehme Erfahrung gemacht haben. Es ist sehr ländlich, also sind diese Kreaturen ungefähre, obwohl größere Ringelnattern, also nicht giftig, aber trotzdem wollen Sie nicht, dass Sie wollen, stimme ich zu. Wir besitzen das Anwesen seit etwa 12 Jahren und haben ein oder zwei Schlangen entdeckt, als die Fundamente gelegt wurden, was vielleicht nicht allzu überraschend ist, aber dann vielleicht nur eine seitdem. Kein Gast hat sich jemals beschwert. Wir können nur denken, dass die extremen Wetterbedingungen, die in letzter Zeit mit Tornados an der Küste und schweren Stürmen anderswo erlebt wurden, ihren normalen Lebensraum gestört haben. Dear Werner and family, Linda & I are so thrilled that you all managed to have such an enjoyable holiday, and that the youngsters can now swim with confidence. Four days before you arrived, after the deluge that flooded the pump house, pool, and made a good attempt at washing the approach road away, it did look increasingly unlikely. Right up to the day before you arrived we were having trouble getting the pool temperature up. Anyway, as they say, it all came out well in the wash (no pun intended), and you would all be most welcome to return to Casa del Falcetto at any time. Kind regards, Tony & Linda Perkins

Dear Cerstin, Thank you for your comments and so pAleased that you all had a lovely holiday. The balance is never going to be perfect between very rural locations and more commercial resorts. Although we cannot understand why the supermarket was closed in Casola, it is not necessary to travel all the way back to Aulla, and as you yourself mentioned there are facilities available at Gragnola. Personally, as we do point out, if we want a large shop we invariably go to Fivizzano where there are extensive facilities and the drive over is spectacular and takes about 20/25 minutes. If you want to just pop out for a loaf of bread it is possible in Pugliano, but I do agree it gets more tricky. We are always fighting the conditions on the road up to the house as during the Winter it always nearly gets swept away in the wind and rain. Pleased to have had you as our guests and you would be most welcome back at any time. Tony & Linda

Dear Rebecca. We are sorry that the weather was a little unkind to you during your stay at Casa del Falcetto and that in these circumstances you found the dining arrangements in side somewhat unsatisfactory. We should point out that on the Vrbo (HomeAway) website it does make it very clear that there is no dining room, but a breakfast bar seating four and a coffee table with seating for four, plus a gateleg table that can be opened up and chairs brought in from outside, and whilst not ideal is only a secondary facility. The house as you say is primarily for use with the sun ever present, and of course off season this is unlikely to be the case, although we have very often swum outside in October very comfortably as you can see from one of the pictures on the website, this before the heatpump was installed, so you just do not know what the elements may deliver. Many guests at this time and deeper into Winter focus on walking and hiking which are superb in the area and are not so concerned with the finer points of dining in, more with the central heating, hot water and comfortable beds, which as you say are faultless. We do not have a ‘pods’ style coffee maker but there is a cafetiere to brew up from beans. Kenneth is a great guy and pleased he was able to help. We are always seeking ways to improve and thank you for your input and four stars.

We didn't suspect it was needed at the end of August, but the "pool boy" told us that the unheated pools are about 8-9 degrees colder and not at 29 degrees.
