"Somewhat mixed feelings. We arrived and the budget room we had booked was tiny and had no draw space to put clothes and only a rail to hang things. We requested a larger room and got one at an extra cost which was fine. The location was stunning over looking a field of sunflowers (its a shame they had gone past their best. We chose the hotel as it was out of the town but had a restaurant, unfortunately it was not open on the night we arrived (Friday night!) so we had to walk the busy road...

"We stayed 2 nights. The chateau hotel was beautifully decorated and surrounded by lush landscaping. The service was excellent. The room was clean and quiet. The air freshener that was sprayed in the room and throughout the hotel was a little too strong. Parking was free. Although we enjoyed the breakfast, we felt that it was mediocre for a luxury hotel. The location was convenient to drive to Sarlat, Marqueyssac garden, etc."

"We had the Rousseau room at the very top of the building. It was spacious and very comfortable. We were prepared to have to walk stairs (no elevator) and the staff carried bags up and down. The heating was tricky but staff sorted it out. Breakfast was great and location is superb. Lea on the staff was especially helpful. For improvement, we would note that the bathtub/shower was very slippery and a bit treacherous with no grab bar to hold. Strongly recommend that they add non/slip grips to the floor of the tub and/or a grab bar to the wall. Otherwise, terrific."
