"We had a lovely vacation at Alea Tulum with our 5 and 8 year old. The ocean view was breathtaking and we thoroughly enjoyed the pools as a family, beach walks, sea kayaking and use of snorkels, life jackets and water shoes to explore and visit cenotes. The room was perfect, and the front desk staff made us feel welcome and were very kind and helpful for anything we needed. We rented a car and enjoyed Alea Tulum as our home base for adventures. Thank you Samantha and the other Alea staff for a beautiful stay! "

"This hotel was a beautiful, quiet oasis. The staff was wonderful, our bed was super comfortable and it felt more like a private condo than a hotel. If the big, all-inclusive hotels are too touristy for you, this could be a great choice.
We felt very safe here, the hotel is on a private road with a guard shack so limited traffic and easy to walk along daily. There's a beautiful cenote just a few minutes walk away. Keep in mind, being outside the main hotel zone food options are limited to a few hotels unless you have a car to drive into town or to the hotel zone - so we recommend renting a car or scooter. We would also highly recommend finding the Mexican cooking from scratch class in a private Tulum home - it was a great experience."
