Noise from within the hotel during the night. Thin walls? When the fire alarm sounded in the night, guests gathered at the front of the hotel. It was quite some time before any staff appeared to offer guidance and explanations. The 'Deluxe Queen Room' on arrival was nothing like the picture when booked. The lack of a shower was strange: the bath mixer taps were extremely temperamental.

Underground Parking too low for mid-sized Van - Wedding meant No Dinning Room for Evening, was not advised until we arrived - However, within Walking distance of Town, where there are numerous options to Dine. Decent Room with River View. - Shower Good.

We got what we paid for, i.e. not a lot, but rooms extremely cold, no heat and windows could not be closed. We had 2 rooms and the TV did not work in one of them. Pillows like rocks. Breakfast average. Good reception staff. Convenient location and excellent river views.

Checked in at 17:20 there superior rooms. Receptionist was very friendly can’t fault her. Once went to room 210 it was not cleaned all dirty from previous guest. Went down to reception my sister was there as her toilet in her room was faulty so the staff went to sort it out. She returned and said give 20 min room will be cleaned my husband said I gentlemen came to the other room wrong one to clean and said no it’s 210. After 25 min we went to the room to check but it was not cleaned return to reception told the staff who apologised and sent the gentleman to go and clean the correct room we did not get the room till 18:35.

We stayed for 3 nights over the Easter holiday. Plus points include nice staff (who don't get angry when you accidentally spill a whole cup of coffee in the lobby 😅); a great breakfast; the fact that it's a quiet hotel which is close to lots of local amenities at a good price; and our room had one of the most impressive pelmets that I've ever seen. Negatives were the hot water tap in the bath wouldn't turn off so your bath became increasingly more scalding; the toilet didn't flush properly; we booked the room with a four poster bed only to discover that the four poster part of the bed had been removed so it looks nothing like the pictures online; the poor quality of what they laughably call "pillows"; there are no plug sockets near the bed so you have to plug your phone in on the other side of the room; and the whole place could do with a coat of paint and some minor repairs. Ultimately, this is a solid 3 star hotel with good prices, a tasty free fry-up for brekkie, and only a five minute walk to get to either Rochester or Chatham.

The linen didn't seem to be very clean it was inside out and the pillows weren't so comfortable. The staff members were excellent and the breakfast was nice. Its quiet and cool atmosphere.

Property was very tired run down, hairdryer not working, shower was not fixed properly, grubby wanted decorating, bedside lights didn’t work, staff were good, breakfast ok , lift needed attention

I was disrespected on the personal level, when as a loyal customer, booked and paid for the room in advanced, upon checking, I was asked to give my bank details. When I've said that I've paid online through the app, I was told that, it is to provide the extra security measures. When I have asked what security measures; I was publicly told, that it is "just in case" if I "will damage the room"! I was a geuest of this hotel many times, and I have never recieve any information or complaint about my stay. Data provided to use the car park; including name, phone number and reg. number are stored on the paper form available to view to anyone who is signing in, which sims to be evident breaching of Data Protection Act.

Good Morning Due to recent policy updates to the hotel we are now asking for everyone who has booked through a third party website to provide their own card details on file for security reasons.Such as for example extending your stay to other reasons in most extreme circumstances such as damages to the property. We are sorry that you felt singled out by this but we can assure you this is not the case every guest upon check in is asked to provide this now. As for the car parking situation this list is usually only kept up on the side for a guest to sign in their car once the guest has left to check in to the room this is removed to behind the desk. under the watchful eye of duty receptionist so we will get the management team to look into this for you. The room I booked was ment to be a deluxe queen I don’t know what was deluxe about it !! Holes in the walls mould on the walls bath doesn’t work unable to shower bath door to room constantly banging due to not fitting properly

The Queen room was good but pigeon noise in the morning was very annoying. Car parking can be tight and the area seems a bit run down. If you are on a budget the hotel is a good price.

We were disappointed with the cleanliness, warmth and service from this hotel. The breakfast was not a full English, more a half English. The beds were lumpy. We found a grape behind the bedside cabinet. The breakfast room was freezing cold. The car park was really small and accessed via a very steep slope. Spaces were not reserved for those staying there so when we returned one evening there was no space due to there being two parties being held at the hotel. We will not be returning

We paid extra for a river facing room. What this actually gave us was a smaller than average size room. As my wife said "it's a good job that we didn't bring a cat" as there was no room to swing one.The bed was uncomfortable and the television started playing loudly in the room next door (which was said to be unoccupied) at 5am. This was not a good introduction to Hotels.com. We did not stay the second night and came home for a comfortable night's sleep.

Could be better.
Our room had filler patches on the wall, some rubbish down the back of the table near the radiator and blond hair in the bath. The hair dryer did not work. There was only one double plug by the tv. No main light just small dim ones. Had to wait ages to get served at the bar as no one was around. And then the morning we left, and hour before check out, housekeeper helped themselves into the room while we were in bed. Didn’t even knock.

Good value for money
Friendly staff. Room was clean and warm with a comfy bed. Bath was great! Good location, free parking and a cooked breakfast. I’m abit if a hotel snob, hotel is abit tired in terms of decor and furnishings but would stay here again as it’s great value for a one night stop over.

Lots of positives but room for improvement
Stayed for 1 night. Pros: well located, reasonable price, friendly, helpful staff, upgrade to a nice room with a view on 4th floor (we had asked in advance). Cons: no hot water from the bath but staff member tried to help but it was Saturday night so not possible. Breakfast was chaotic with only 1 member of staff and about 20 people trying to get breakfast. Car park very small and difficult to park Overall, I would recommend as this is a budget hotel and things generally worked well with very friendly staff doing their best

Annual Dickens Christmas visit
As usual our stay was very good. The room was comfortable and of a good size. The only thing that stopped me giving excellent was due to the poor shower. The breakfast as usual was excellent. The staff member who booked us in was friendly and customer focused

I thought the hotel and breakfast were excellent value for money. There really should have been more staff on, the poor receptionist was running around trying to do everything. I would definitely use the hotel again for my stay in Chatham.

In winter, this property has no heating, bedding unsafe, never experienced anything like in my whole life. I have no words for this property other than unsafe and a business that scams people for service that I can not provide. Unbelievable.

This hotel really needs updating. The bedrooms are not great. Dirty flooring in the bathroom, carpets are uneven, which are a trip hazard. We moved bedrooms twice then decided to upgrade to superior just to get a slightly better room. The best thing about the room was the view. We attended a Christmas party and food was average. Disappointed that there was no Christmas pudding for dessert only cheesecake. Breakfast was not great, food was cold and I had almost finished my breakfast by the time my husband’s came out. Lastly a member of staff that came from the kitchen area looked really dirty. Her uniform was disgusting. A bit of a worry when she is working in the kitchen. Would not stay again!

Welcomed by Conor on reception. He wa pleasant, friendly and very helpful. He also served us at the bar and we enjoyed talking with him. He has the right attitude and will go far in his career as he gets older. Only downside of our experience was that the rooms could do with a little updating and the heating shoukd be controllable by the customer as opposed to being on a timer but over all the room was clean. One more thing, get the ice machine fixed for the bar staff, its not good to have my gin and tonic without ice and embarrasing for staff to have to explain why. X
