The staff was accommodating of several requests we had, and the mini fridge in the room was a plus. The two fans we borrowed were not enough to cool the room during the heat wave, so sleep was uncomfortable.

Run down and not amazing, but super-cheap with free parking and a great location. Let's not pretend it's anything other than it is, but if you just need somewhere to crash, it's perfect.

The staff were extremely helpful and the bathroom was clean. We paid an exorbitant amount for a room which was beyond shabby in a hotel which was in a worse condition than the room. There had been a problem with our booking and the staff were extremely helpful sorting our accommodation out, that was the highlight of the trip. The carpets in the corridors were filthy, with a number of stains of unknown origin. The room was small with peeling paint around the windows and a slightly cleaner carpet than the hallway. We go to a lot of hotels due to our work and this is not the worst place we have stayed at, it's the second worst.

Stayed in early May. We had room 15 street level at the front. Plenty of space, more like a suite with a sofa and TV at one end and 2 single beds at the other with another TV. There was a fridge and tea and coffee. Bathroom looked to have recently been tidied up but the rest of the room needs refreshing. There were no real mattresses, only pieces of foam cut to shape. Probably would not stay here again.

Perfect and reasonably priced

My stay was with 2 sisters, we were given 3 single beds as requested. The room was spotless and perfect for our needs. If you desired there is a TV too. The hotel is a listed building and obviously old but fascinating . Parking available at the rear. Central to the city .

They're trying; front desk staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Room was good size, nicely stocked with mini-frig and microwave. No lift but not a problem for us. Carpet needs updating.

A rather farcical hospitality.

I am 75 arriverd before check in and was generously allowed tyo leave my small case as I went to the cricket. I checked in at about 6.30pm and was given room 20 at the top of the house up about 3 flights. I did not announce my hidden disability but I am obviously a pensioner and would never have expected to be so far up and expected to walk up 4 steep steps without a bannister to a fire door room entrance that was very heavy. Staff could have allocated me alower room as they knew I would return. The toilet seat slipped about and didn't fiit, the batroom door handle was separating from the doot and someone scould have been locked in there and no-one would have heard them shout, and the bath mat was stained with paint and/or bleach. The room was cleaned properly and I would have liked more sachets of tea and coffee. Ther staff told me they complsin regularly about laintenance but it is rarely carried out. That room was a serious accident waiting to happen.

Centrally located, basic comfort

Overnight stay in Cheltenham to attend local Film Festival. Hotel centrally located with attentive staff. Stayed in Room 10 (suitable for one guest). Generously stocked tea and coffee. Kettle in great condition. Furniture overall had seen a lot of use. Bed comfortable. Small TV but serviceable. Did not use Wi-Fi. In relation to cost, it was good. Would stay again.

cheap and cheerful

On arrival it was difficult to identify where the car park for the hotel was, I had to call the hotel to be able to confirm - it’s a small car park at the back of the building which is first come first served. Checking in was easy, they were not able to do a full ID check as their scanner was down, so they requested it to be emailed over - email bounced back AFTER check out. Only issue I had was that as they were checking another customer in the staff called out my room number - which I did not appreciate regarding my safety. The hotel room itself was simple and clean - ensuite was very clean. For the price it did the job perfectly, which allowed me to catch up with an old friend that I had not seen in many years.

At least the bedding and towels were clean. Room was too small to contain a double bed, and then one of you is clambering over the other to get in. No heating in the shower room and the towels, although clean, were well past their best and had holes in them. No option for breakfast. Definitely not worth £100 a night.
