Top Chipping Norton Leisure Centre Hotel Reviews
Cotswolds Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"We chose The Cotswolds Hotel and Spa for our honeymoon. We were thrilled to be upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the golf course, thank you. Some reviews we read prior to our visit were very negative, but we cannot fault the cleanliness of the room and public areas, they were spotless. Yes, some of the furniture in the room is a little dated, but the public areas were fresh and modern. As we are having a very warm summer, many previous visitors had commented on the rooms not being air conditioned, so we took our own tower fan with us. However, there was a lovely big fan in the room that also helped. The staff were extremely friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. My husband played the golf course twice and really enjoyed it. We hired a golf buggy for one of the rounds which was in excellent condition, it seemed to be brand new. Unfortunately the treatments were all booked up, so we cannot comment on these. We can highly recommend the pizzas, they were delicious. If you are having breakfast, the busy time mid week seemed to be between 8 and 8.30, it is much quieter either side of these times. The hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring the Cotswolds, we visited Bourton on the Water, Stow on The Wold, The Diddly Squat Farm Shop and Belnheim Palace (all within 30 minutes or less to the hotel). We would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the Cotswolds. Thanks to all the team for a lovely visit."

"Excellent stay thanks for a wonderful stay"
Large Loft flat 1m Chipping Norton. Great base for sightseeing/working locally
10/10 Excellent
"This apartment was a lovely size. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of glassware crockery and kitchen tools. I was able to make full cooked breakfast and evening meal no issues. There is a nice dining table. Bathroom had a large shower. Previous guests mentioned the apartment was warm. When we visited we opened the velux windows and this created a lovely draft we were able to cool the apartment and the temperature was very comfortable. There is also a large floor fan this has a long cable and is very quiet and can be used in the living area and bedroom to achieve your required temperature. I particularly like a dark bedroom and I was very pleased to find that the blinds on the windows were very effective and the bedroom was completely dark. The apartment backs on to open countryside nice views and we found it quiet. It is a mile walk into Chipping Norton and there are pavements all the way so this is a safe shaded pleasant walk to many pubs restaurants and shops. A very pleasant three night stay."
Beautifully presented dog friendly holiday - The Snug
10/10 Excellent
"Cottage was lovely, location good but parking not great met with hostile neighbours one sat on our car. Love Chippy, good pubs and lovely food."
Ideally located dog friendly holiday home in the Cotswolds - Upper Barn
8/10 Good
"Upper barn was an excellent location just off Chipping Norton High Street, and although a looking a little tired with many scrapes on the paintwork and poorly matched paint on the lounge ceiling where a repair had previously been made, it was essentially as pictured on the website. However some aspects were disappointing - in particular that the spa was leaking. We were not told this in advance, but were only advised of the problem when we arrived and told we just needed to top it up each morning, which we did. Unfortunately once a day top up was obviously not sufficient as by the time we wanted to use it in the late afternoon/evening the level had returned to the same half full level which we then had to refill with cold water before the jets could operate. So at best we were only able to have a lukewarm spa- okay on very hot days, but not ideal, and not what we were looking forward too. I think I am most annoyed that I was not contacted in advance and possible alternatives, eg alternative accommodation with a non-leaking spa suggested. Other irritations were that the hairdryer was broken, there was a hole in the bottom of one of the cafetieres and one of the outside metal chairs was broken (screws missing so seat not fully connected to the legs). I left notes on each of these when we left so hopefully they will now have now been attended to. There was also insufficient toilet paper to last for a week long stay and no basic items such as kitchen roll and body wash that I would have expected to have been provided for such a stay. Overall we had a nice week in the Cotswolds, but there is certainly room for improvement in what is provided at Upper Barn and communication with regards to the repair required, and usability of, one of its advertised key features."
Lower Barn - a barn conversion that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
8/10 Good
"We stayed for one week in the Lower Barn. The contact with Stay Cotswalds was very professional and communication was excellent. We were quite astonished about the location as this didn't really correspond to the description and pictures on-line. The Lower Barn is located at the end of an alley. The Parking place that got already mentionned a few times was OK but very manageable for a midsize car (we have a Subaru XV/Crosstrek). What was rather unpleasant is that in the alley many garbagecontainers for the different holiday lets in the alley are standing around which gives the location not such a holiday feeling, especially on hot days. On entry we were struck by how dark the Lower Barn is. On the online pictures it looks like a lightflooded place, but in reality it is pretty dark little. house which doesn't really invite at staying around by day. Which was a pity as we were there during a (very) hot weather spell. The cottage was clean and well kept with all amenities necessary. The overall feeling downstairs was more shabby than chic. (Sofa's with stains, torn cushions ) Upstairs was decent. We struggled every day with a fly infestation. With all windows shut and nothing in the garbage inside or so, we were greeted every day when we came back with 10-15 big flies in the cottage. We were not able to determine where they came from. Certainly not from open doors/windows. All by all it was an OK experience, but we wouldn't come back to the Lower Barn. We can recommend StayCotswalds however."
