"Location was terrific. Easy walk to great swimming, restaurants, shops…There was no AC-this was the most difficult for us but it may have been something we took for granted. Next time, we will definitely look for a place with AC if we visit during the summer. It was difficult even to sleep at night with all the windows open and fans blowing directly on us…There were also a few things either overlooked by the management or I would consider including: an extra set of towels (one for bathing and the other for swimming), hand soap at every sink. Otherwise, the space was very spacious and our family had a great time."

"Perfect location! It was our first time in Varenna and Lake Como, so I didn't realize until we arrived how lucky we got in booking here. Right next to the Royal Victoria Hotel (you can see their pool area outside the window), and steps from restaurants, the Chiesa di Santa Marta, and Villa Montastero. Taking the stairs down to the beach couldn't have been more convenient, and the 10-minute walk to ferries, restaurants, shops, gelateria, beach club (Olivedo Lido), and famous "Lovers Walk" is beautiful to explore. This is a very lovely unit. We were there in the hottest time in July, so be prepared that a/c can only do so much (the upstairs room got much colder overnight). There are also windows that open for views of the ocean, a dishwasher, clothes washer, and plenty of dishes. There was no accessible storage for clothes in the downstairs bedroom when we were there, but plenty of storage in the upstairs bedroom. At first, the hot water didn't seem to be working, but my husband quickly figured out that the water heater (located inside the unit) just needed to be switched on. The walk from the train station is not far, but can be a bit treacherous in the heat if you have very heavy luggage or are not in good walking condition. Our family (including two teen girls) made the journey both ways just fine after not being able to get a response from any of the cab companies provided (we had been warned that taxis are not abundant). Overall, I highly recommend booking! We loved it!"

"Absolutely stunning apartment. Clean, spacious and with Aircon. which made the heatwave in Varenna bearable! The location and views are incredible with everything nearby. A treasure of a place to stay on Lake Como. Having visited Ballagio, Managio and some nearby villages Varenna was definitely our favourite and this was a perfect base to do all this."
