Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy
DO NOT RENT! It seemed like a normal VRBO rental until the check-in process became suspect. A video of a man pointing on a scooter where to go and wagging his finger where not to go. Words printed on the screen firmly stated DO NOT mention the words VRBO to anyone. If we were approached about our stay, we were instructed to lie and say we were relatives of John. This made us feel uneasy. We did our own research on the spot and learned short term rentals of 30 days or less are not allowed in Coronado, as stated in their civil code. We refused to be part of a scam, to lie and misrepresent who we were, and to limit the use of our perceived amenities (eg. the firepit in the picture is off limits). This is a residential complex and only residents may use such amenities, including the parking lot next to building. Our communication with the owner was swift and we cancelled our reservation on the spot.
