"The hotel was a good value for money pub with good food. Breakfast was freshly cooked and there were other choices too. The menu in the restaurant wasn’t huge but what we had was cooked nicely and tasty. Room was compact although the road outside was surprisingly noisier than we would have expected. Toiletries and towels were provided along with tea and coffee in the room. Sadly there were no choices within that - decaf coffee/tea/fruit tea/ etc at all in the hotel. Staff were nice and helpful. Not luxury in any way but a good and honest place for the money."

"This Hotel is a great find. The staff are very helpful. Restaurant is excellent. Our room was of a good size - only negative was that the shower was very slippery so I suggested a plastic mat be available to use if needed. At 77, my husband definitely needed one. Breakfast was excellent despite the fact all the options weren't available due to an issue with the fire alarm the night before meaning their gas stoves couldn't be used. Not their fault. Totally recommend this Hotel and will come here again on my trip heading south from Scotland."

"Good place for a couple, great position in the countryside but not too far from a pub and train station (20 minute walk). However cooking was a challenge: the kitchen is very sparsely equipped, there are 2 mugs, glasses, bowls, a few more plates, but that’s it. Barely any utensils ( unless you like mash, 2 potato mashers), and nothing you could use in the oven. ( interestingly this has been mentioned on another sites reviews since 2022 but Together Travel obviously don’t consider the addition of a pair of tongs, a slotted spoon and maybe a baking tray as necessary). Also there is a breakfast bar but you can’t sit at it as the chairs are far too high for the worktop, and in any case they are so uncomfortable you can’t sit on them for longer than 5 minutes. Take indoor shoes as walking through the wet room to and from the bedroom quickly results in wet socks.. There was a lovely glossy Together Travel brochure featuring all their properties, but what we actually would have liked was a welcome pack with instructions for the property, useful phone numbers, maybe some fliers for local pubs etc. when we have stayed in converted places like this before the owners have also included a bit about the history of the place, that’s what makes it feel really special, shows the owners care about it. It felt a bit contrived & curated to look good rather than be good, which is a shame because with a bit more attention to the basics it would be absolutely lovely."

"We have had a really nice week at Ruskin. Comfortable beds and sofa's, kitchen has everything you need, large TV in living room with Sky, Netflix, etc. Little sun room overlooking the garden which has a washer/dryer and a large fridge/freezer (there is also a smaller fridge in the kitchen). The garden is lovely and the hot tub is brilliant. Maintained by the owners who called by regularly to check. There are lovely walks around and about and only 1 mile or so into Sandbach itself. Handy for touring around, we went to Cheshire Oaks, Chester Zoo, several farms nearby with play areas for children. We enjoyed it so much we have booked again! Thank you to Wendy & Dave"

"Lovely, cosy, well presented accommodation in quiet rural situation. Good kitchen, separate sitting room and spacious bedroom. Parking next to PiggeryHost very friendly and helpful. Plenty to see and do in surrounding area. Easy access from M6. Would stay again. "
