"Comfortable and mostly very well-equipped house with excellent pool in an ideal location for our favourite parts of the Dordogne valley, with glorious views of Domme from the terrace. Easy car access to Cenac for the supermarket and an excellent boulangerie, but a little far to walk. Bedrooms were a little cramped thanks to sloping walls and there were one or two odd omissions in the very well-fitted kitchen but we had a very enjoyable week there."

"This hotel is slightly quirky but is very nice. I slept very well here and enjoy my room and the view over the valley. I didn’t eat at the restaurant for breakfast or dinner and I wanted something light, so can’t comment on the food. The view from the restaurant looked amazing. The only thing that would make the stay better would be to provide guests with a kettle to make tea or coffee in their rooms. I will definitely stay here again. There’s no elevator so if you have heavy bags, be prepared to carry them up stairs. "

"Large typically French property that can easily accommodate 8-10 people. Villa in beautiful surroundings with different areas in which to chill. Best booked if you don’t want to travel far, though driving was very easy and enjoyable on mainly quiet roads. Within easy reach of the larger villages. Down-sides: no facilities in the village so prepare by shopping before arriving, and the pool is not within the grounds but a 10-15 minutes walk away (I think the write-up is misleading). Overall, we had a great stay with the hosts being very helpful, within the limits of our little-speaking-French group, but we managed OK. "

"We spent a wonderful week at La Bourgarde and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The property was perfect – just a short walk into Castelnaud for morning pastries and close enough to enjoy an afternoon swim. The location made it easy to pack in so many activities, and our whole family loved every moment. Check-in was seamless, and the host was excellent with communication and helpful advice throughout our stay. We will definitely be returning – highly recommended!"
