Learn more about Driffield

Known as the 'Capital of the Wolds,' this market town hosts the annual Driffield Show where you'll find Yorkshire's largest agricultural fair. Visit the Driffield Canal with its historic warehouses, then explore the independent shops and cafes along Middle Street South.

St Leonard's Church, Scorborough, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The estate church at Scorborough, rebuilt in the 19th century by John Loghborough Pearson and paid for by James Hall of the nearby Scorborough Hall. Scorborough was the seat of the Hotham family until Sir John Hotham was captured at Beverley in 1645 on his way back to Scorborough and beheaded on Tower Hill along with his son. Sir John had denied King Charles I entry to the city of Hull but was tried and executed by the Parliamentarians after apparently switching his allegiance and plotting to hand the city over to the Royalists.
