Excellent location and friendly staff. Great view from our room up 4 flights of stairs. Some maintenance needed - no shower door in the bathroom and water faucet drips. Still we were comfortable and found the hotel to be a good value. The breakfast provided was pretty terrible- the worst coffee.

Fantastic location in the Old City, so full of character and close to all the sites. Unfortunately let down somewhat by the communication (no one on the desk when we arrived, had to phone), the rooms and staff responsiveness (broken shower head which was never repaired), and the lack of any contact until the last day when they wanted to collect tourist tax

This is a centrally located property. We came during January and is slow season and may be this is the reason that no staff worked at the front desk. Make sure you communicate with the staff ahead of time of arrival. I also booked this hotel because it has luggage storage as i have a late afternoon flight.

The hotel is inside the wall and near all of the attractions and city buses. The room is good and price was attractive. It does not have an elevator (we had a room on 4th floor).

The property is lovely. Our room was the balcony suite (3rd floor room 5). Very happy with the room - kitchenette with everything we needed. Breakfast was good and delivered right to the room which we enjoyed out on our balcony. Only disappointment was something the hotel isn’t responsible for which was an absolutely annoying upstairs guest. They walked around their room (stomping) all hours of the night (stopped around 1AM) and started back up again at 4AM. Had I been more confident I would have gone up to the room and requested they stop but since the hotel front desk isn’t there in the evenings I wasn’t comfortable confronting another guest. Some reviewers complain that you must take steps, it’s a beautiful old building, steps weren’t that bad. The location cannot be beat!!!!

It was a little bit of a challenge to find, but the staff were so helpful it made it acceptable (make sure you have WhatsApp on your phone, extraordinarily helpful in these situations where you're lost trying to find your hotel.) Keep in mind you're staying in the old city, and there are no elevators, and often a lot of cobblestones and stairs to negotiate. Luckily, my partner and I are reasonably fit so this was not terribly challenging However, the front desk person met us at the top of the stairs (about a 120 steps down) and took one of our bags to the hotel lobby where we checked in. Our room was up on the top floor. Again, no elevator, the front desk gentleman took one of our bags up to the top. He would have taken all of them, but I was adamant that I could carry them. Great location! Highly recommend. If you are interested in exploring the old city, can't beat this place.

Great location. Super clean and helpful staff. Our room was very comfortable and included a kitchenette and sofa. Use the Ploce Gate to get there as you avoid the steps at the Buza Gate (tell your driver, they will know). No elevators within the World Heritage site, so, if steps are a problem, get a room on a low floor or stay outside the Old Town.

This is a pleasant, clean boutique hotel with friendly staff in a great location right in the middle of the old. It has eight rooms and we booked what is the best room which is the top floor "Deluxe Suite" with balcony. The room has character, is modern and tastefully furnished and has a kitchenette. The small balcony (and it is very small) has nice views across the rooftops of the old town. However, I've given the hotel just an "average" rating overall as there were a few things that don't reflect a 4-star hotel. For example breakfast was poor - brought to your room at a pre-arranged time (guests are asked to book and pre-order the day before from a fixed menu, I ordered the option that supposedly included baccon & egg but the whole thing came was just a rather tasteless omlette whilst the fruit in my wife's cereal was still frozen), the lack of anyone at reception much of the time and no facility to help with luggage even if you book their own airport car transfer meaning (in our case) having to haul heavy suitcases through the busy old town in very hot weather (other hotels at least have a luggage trolly to loan guests) so, in my view it did not represent 4-star quality overall and was not good value (we paid over £300 for one night).

Scalini Palace was beyond my expectations. Normally the pictures are not an accurate reflection of the location, but in this case, I was much more impressed than I had anticipated. The setup was amazing, with all the amenities I could need. The kitchenette had everything I needed, the bed was comfortable and the location was nothing less than perfect, The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Not only would I stay here again, but I would recommend to anyone asking for a suggestion

Absolutely loved this accommodation! In the heart of Old Town Dubrovnik where you can easily walk everywhere. The staff was fantastic and very helpful. They kept in constant communication and provided great recommendations. The Deluxe room was wonderful with a great balcony view of Old Town. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was really nice. The decor was added great ambience and the entire hotel was spotless. Thank you for a memorable and comfy stay!

Perfect for exploring Dubrovnik
Scalini Palace is a quaint hotel down a side street in Old Town Dubrovnik. It is a perfect base for exploring Dubrovnik. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean. My only complaint is that I would say that the duvet was too small for the bed.

We enjoyed our stay at Scalini Palace. We were worried when we read some of the other reviews but found they were exaggerated. The breakfast was tasty and always arrived to us warm; there was some noise (this can only be expected in a city centre hotel) but the windows shut the vast majority of the noise out and our room was quiet; there are a few flights of stairs in the hotel but it’s in a historic building so we wouldn’t expect a lift; the rooms are tastefully decorated; the kitchenette is perfect if you want to make lunch each day or make a small evening meal; the cleaners were friendly and left the room clean each morning. This hotel is very centrally located and it was great to be able to pop in and out if we needed to when we were exploring the city. Top tip - if you get the transfer bus from the airport, enter the city through Ploce gate, rather than walking up the North Gate. This is a quicker route and means you can avoid carrying your luggage down lots of steps.

Nice enough, few issues.
When we got to the room it was a nice room, quite compact and only one small wardrobe so was hard to find space to put everything. We used the shower and the bathroom flooded immediately, luckily I was able to pop to cover off the shower floor where I found a clump of hair clogging the drains, so I was able to remove that and have the water drain off. The staff were lovely, and the complimentary breakfast was nice. The location was great it was just off the main street in dubrovnik old town. But if you have heavy bags the steps can be a bit of a nuisance. If going here DO NOT use the buza gate, use the Pile or Puca gate to go into the town. Buza has about 200 steps down to the property

what I didnt like was the fact that in 2020 I booked and paid for an airport transfer through the hotel but when I rebooked this year I had to pay the driver again and no one apparently had any knowledge of it and were not really prepared to do anything about. Other wise the hotel suited me perfectly and I was more than happy with it.

Scalini Palace is not a hotel but high-end rooming. It is 6 minutes walk from the Ploce Gate and situated off the Placa/Stradun, the central street in old town Dubrovnik. There is no porter service. But to the left of the Ploce Gate taxi rank is a private baggage transfer which will porter bags. It costs Kuna 150 for two bags. The hotel has no elevator and the rooms are located up steep stone staircases. The rooms are super clean - ours had a kitchenette which was well kitted out. The bathroom is small and has a leak-in shower. There are no toiletries supplied. The only towels provided are hand towel sized. The bed is double and large - King - and comfortable. It is noisy at night because of the close proximity to the bars and cafes on the Stradun. Our room had a tiny balcony with a table and two chairs - only accessible by the slim!

Fair room but very small. So much so that we could not even open our luggage. We arrived by an uber from the airport. The Uber driver dropped us off at the north entrance and we had to take about a 100 steps down with two pieces of luggage each. Steps are old marble and very slippery. Make sure you ask the drivers to Drop You off at the east or west main gaits. Once we arrived, we had to drag our luggage up another 3 stories of stairs. Not very fun considering we had just come down 100 steps. The room had a balcony, but you can barely stand in it as it’s very narrow. Also as mentioned before the room was extremely small making it difficult to open our luggage to access our necessities. The shower had a poor design and every time we showered the whole Bathroom floor would get flooded. Also the provided towels, although clean, had holes in them and needed to be thrown away. The breakfast is so so. They make an effort, but as mentioned before there are better options out there. I would give this hotel a 3 star and not a 4 star rating.

Scalini Palace is only a few steps away from Stradun, the Main Street through old town. Other hotels are many steps up from Stradun so Scalini Palace is in a great location. We enjoyed our stay here, especially the breakfast delivered to our room. Our room was spacious and clean and even had a small kitchenette. But with all the wonderful food choices in Dubrovnik, we didn't use the kitchenette; but nice if you would want it.

This was probably the worst decision that I have ever made when booking a room on this platform. The walls are incredibly thin, as are the floors. We had someone above us who stomped all night. We complained to the front desk and they “tried” to deal with it at 10pm. But at 2:00 AM it happened again. We tried to get in touch with someone at the front, nothing. Tried to get ahold of hotels.com, super unhelpful. And then the upstairs people started yelling and kicking on our door until 3:00 AM. I have never felt this unsafe in a room I paid so much for. The upstairs people left, but the rest of the stay wasn’t much better. And the front desk didn’t help or compensate. It was a horrible experience. Never ever again.

Do not recommend - bad service and no hot water.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff is extremely disorganized, had terrible communication, and there is no sense of management at all. Our hot water was broken our entire stay and I asked to speak to the manager about 5 times - I was never contacted about this issue. Also, there is absolutely no security. We had to enter the building alone late at night and lock and unlock the front door ourselves since the doorman leaves at 11PM. I was extremely disappointed by this hotel, especially given the high price. It was in a great location but I had a very unpleasant stay here.

Area is right in the old town...they were extremely strict on check in and checkout times, so we couldn't even get an hour extra...10 am check out is rough for travelers. Also, we booked the Balcony room for the second night, and it was much smaller and the balcony really really dirty, so don't "splurge" on the balcony room. Though, we would say, the bed is extremely comfortable.

This boutique hotel is right in the Old Town. Luca assisted us with whatever information we needed. Our room on the 4th floor was charming and had a view of the sitting. The facility does not have an elevator, but Luca assisted with our bags.

Exceptional stay - highly recommend!
My partner and I had the most amazing stay at Scalini Palace. The hotel is in a prime location in old town - exceptionally close to stradun but tucked away on a side street so very quiet. Luca was really helpful throughout our entire stay - he got in touch prior to our arrival and provided tips and help when needed. We stayed in the room with the balcony and this was one of my highlights of our time in Dubrovnik. Eating breakfast while enjoying a view of the rooftops of the old town was simply the cherry on top.
