Read reviews before booking, The pub / Hotel is not worth booking in our opinion (although the staff are lovely the owners have strict rules for them to follow). Check In is @ 3pm if your lucky & the bar closes if there are 3 customers in so times vary considerably 8pm on a Friday night 9pm on a Saturday... They have no chef currently so no food available & the breakfast is inedible all deep fat fried & hard. Rooms are very small we booked a superior double & at best was a large single. Pub looks run down which is a shame as it is in a great location. The owner needs to look at investment in all areas of this business

very friendly staff however the service for breakfast was awful and the coffee was instant and food unappetising, messy tables. Thehotel is in need of some serious TLC.

The site appeared to have been set up very well at some point but now not so good. The vast cigarette waste tray by the entrance was not so welcoming and the plug-in air freshener within the the socket hanging out of the wall didnt inspire confidence. The mdf in the bathhroom is blown in many areas. Cobwebs on the windows seemed to demonstrate a lack of attention when being cleaned. At breakfast, the sugar "bowl" was sat upon a plate and revealed a dirty brown ring when lifted off said plate. Otherwise, bed lovely, room was nice and breakfast was cooked well. Some works would make it a competitive site again.

Cozy and convenient!
We enjoyed our stay at the Prince of Wales. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The bus stop was right outside the doors and very convenient. We look forward to visiting again!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Prince of Wales was so convenient to Osborne House and walkable! Buses too were very convenient (bus stops in the front)! It is clean and charming!

We chose this property for it's proximity to Osbourne House, (which is literally across the road) and a fabulous place to visit. The hotel is fairly standard for it's era, but very clean with a good breakfast and is good value for money.

Out of season stay
Out of season pleasant stay. The room was clean and tastefully furnished though on the small side. Staff were friendly and helpful. Decent english breakfast, cooked to order.

Great place to stay, perfectly located for Osbourn
Lovely little bed and breakfast. Pub was tidy and good priced. Room was clean and styled similar to Osbourne House. Would definitely visit and stay again.

value for money stay
The room was clean and comfortable. I didn't realise that the bathroom was not en-suit when I booked but it was for the room and not shared so it was fine for a short stay. The pub was closed for food and closed early so was not used for drinks, and it looks a bit shabby. The breakfast was good but not exceptional.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately since Covid the bar has been closing early due to the custom not being there anymore. The kitchen is a franchise kitchen and that also does not have enough custom to warrant it being open. We hope you will stay with us again.n

Very Poor indeed but a few good points.
Very Poor and mis-described. Advertised a restaurant but no food at all available except breakfast. They have rooms with bath and I asked for one. No response to request and no bath! Pokey little room with no chair, too hot with window closed, much too noisy with window open. Will never stay again unless it changes hands. Very clean though and friendly staff. Dishonest descriptions of facilities is totally unacceptable.

Thankyou for your feedback it is always helpful. Having checked the website there is nowhere advertising food as we operate on a pre-order system for evening meals when requested by customers. All descriptions of rooms are advertised when customers book so you would have read the description of the room you booked(which we do not choose ...you do) to realise it was an en-suite shower. There is only one room with a bath which had already been booked and it was a king size room whereas you booked a double. The room you stayed in overlooked the courtyard which would only have noise if there are people in the courtyard so i apologise if any customers were noisy but we dont stay open late so it wouldn't have disturbed your nights sleep and all rooms have a fan in the wardrobes to help in hot weather. I apologise again.

Good location and friendly.
Ideal location for our planned visit to osbourne House.Friendly welcome from Rhys(opologies if wrong spelling) who explained everything clearly and offered recommendations for local food. Bedroom very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok but not brilliant but service was friendly and quick. This place is in an excellent location for driving anywhere in the island of you are driving.

My Perfect Prince
Prince of Wales exceeded expectations. We had the Prince Arthur room, which was on the top floor. A solid location and even though it was the weekend, it was relatively quiet. Shower worked well. This was our first full English Breakfast. We liked everything served, except for the blood pudding. We tasted it and it was good, but still not something we liked. The location is perfect for Osborne House and other parts of the island via the bus system. Went to Carisbrooke Castle and Yarmouth Castle.
Our room was the triangular attic on the left. Over pub but not noisy

Very handy for Osborne House .
The pub was extremely handy for the wedding we were attending at Osborne House. The only criticisms i can think of was that the toilet didnt flush awfully well and that the shower was very small. Other than those two little niggles.our stay was very good and the breakfast was very good.😁

Very comfortable,newly renovated and decorated bedroom...tea, coffee and biscuits in the room...great shower with plenty of hot water.. you can control the room temperature to suit your requirements... Breakfast was the best I've had for ages...full list of items are available and you can choose your own combination....great sausages, bacon, tomatoes mushrooms, beans, fried egg etc and the best black pudding I've eaten in years !!! Served with toast butter coffee and tea... Helpful lovely staff ..nothing was too much trouble....We will be staying again soon l hope...thank you all for a great stay...Howard & Christine

The Hotel had a huge delivery of new tarmac and stones when we originally passed it and there would be nowhere to park - not even close by. We phoned up & said we had a reservation & what was the earliest time we could check in. Not before 3.00pm we were told so we decided to go on & have lunch in Ryde & have a look around. When we returned, at 3.15pm, the lady at the bar/reception said she had no one under our name booked & she was full. We showed her the booked confirmation, but she insisted there was nothing for us. She could put us up on the top floor but as I am in a wheelchair, that was not an option. She did not even offer to find somewhere for us to stay. We sat in the car park with tarmac & stones embedded in our shoes & tried desperately to find a place. After about 7 calls & no joy, we looked at Travelodge in Ryde & booked on line, they had a room free! So we were NOT at all impressed with the welcome, the hotel itself didn't look good, the bar area was run down. We were very disappointed with the whole experience. No customer service what-so-ever, not even a smile or apology. Terrible for a supposed 3star hotel.
